In 1981, Bobby Clarke had his jersey stolen with 2 games left on a road trip. He had to wear number 36 in Minnesota and Winnipeg. I have searched high and low for a picture with no success. My last recourse is to call the Flyers PR dept which I will do eventually. The best I could find is a blurb out of the Philadelphia Inquirer

I wonder if it's more common to see those traditional goalie numbers on skaters in Montreal just because they have so many retired jerseys, they operate on the smallest pool of available choices in the whole league
