I want to see the Habs trade Subban so bad. they will be mired in mediocrity for years if they do it. It will be like Roy 2.0. Panic move trading the heart & soul of the team due to a bad stretch.

Plus I'd love to not have to deal with him at Bell Centre any more. Subban has his flaws but he is far and away the best player on that team besides Price.

But if they start trading players before firing their idiot coach then they'll have really gone off the deep end.

Well having his brother Malcom on the roster helps Sweeney's chances of landing #76.... No chance he's moved. At 9m yikes that's a hard cap hit to swallow

Idk, the Habs would survive dealing PK for a Taylor Hall + Darnell Nurse package. They'd get a haul for him for sure. Not sure he's worth it either

That is what players of his caliber seem to be going for these days. Luckily next year we'd have to room if it were to happen.

I think back to playoff series versus the Habs and who is the one player (besides Price) that seems to be the biggest thorn in our side?

I think it has to do with Max too. But honestly, you'd trade Max before PK every day of the friggin week. Max is earning peanuts in comparison to Subban (i doin't thik that sits well with him, especially now that hes Captain) and I also don't think Montreal should pay the ridiculous price Max is gonna want on his next deal  so to me its clear, you have invested in PK, theres a rift between he and Max, bye bye Captain No Show. Honestly though, I hope this happens x1000.

I agree completely.

Habs have done some crazy stuff. For all the grief Chia gets for the Seguin return (and rightly so) it still pales in comparison to the way they handled Roy and also what they did with McDonough. Wow, was that putrid!!!!:laugh:

You're ****ing ******** me????? Are they actually serious??? Id be trading Pacioretty in a heartbeat before anyone on that team, hes the only guy that sucks that actually has value. If the Habs trade Subban I will actually wet my pants in laughter.

I think it could be another GM stirring the pot though, say that his name has come up to keep stoking the flames in Montreal :laughL

Residing in the city of the blue blanc vomit, there seems to be some form of tid bits that have been surfacing in the midst of this meltdown via media people.
It is believed that the GM and Coach have never really warmed up to PK and his flamboyant style from the get go.
Word has that GM Bergevin wanted to sign PK in the area of 5M (bridge contract I believe) but Mr.Molson was the one who forced the hand of the GM to give what PK the large deserved contract because Molson beleived PK is the star that would fill the seats at the Bell centre.
Mr.Molson felt is was right to build around PK and Price.
In addition, there has been other small rumblings where the players from the team(I do not know which ones or how many) were not too happy with PK's brand promotion during the up coming Winter Classic Game this year, to the point where these players wanted this to end much quicker than later. Perhaps jealousy or perhaps a little too much for some of the players to digest.

Now, if this stuff has any inklings of truth, there is no reason why PK cannot be shopped today.....What we must remember is that here in the belle province, the fans and the media tend to add an enormous amount of pressure that can sometimes lead them to do things that normally would not happen in another hockey city.
Now, if Mr. Molson has a different view today and has fallen on board with Bergevin and Therrien, PK on the move can be a realistic one, however if Mr.Molson is still on the the PK wagon I do not see it happening.
Remember that in the history of sports, crazier things have happened in the zany world of sports, therefore it is always possible......

I doubt it. They already can't win with Subban. Markov is almost finished. Nurse has potential but is nowhere close to replacing Subban and nobody else on that team is filling that gap.

Price can always steal games for them but without Subban driving possession the other way he'll get shelled, and if Price is ever hurt then they are toast. Hall certainly helps but he's basically a wash with Subban offensively.

They certainly would, depending of the package coming back though.
PK's a good hockey player, but he's overrated because he's so "flamboyant".
I'm sure Molson likes him a lot since he's selling tons of jerseys, so PK is not going anywhere.

Good analysis Universe.
I would add the rumblings go way back, back in the Jacques Martin era who, by the way, used to bench him a lot or send him to press box from time to time to send a message so it seemed (granted PK was almost a puppy in those days).
Those same rumblings had the vets of the team then (Gionta, Gorges, Gill, Spacek, Hamrlik) not liking his diva personnality.

PK would easily be our best defensemen since Chara... and would give us a #1 in his prime.

It would be great, but I think we have a better chance of Kevan Miller becoming our #1 than us acquiring PK Subban.

What's funny is that all those guys were marginal aging vets at the time.

Also vets who had nothing like the talent of Subban in their prime!

I think there is too much of this going on and when things go bad all of this becomes exponentially greater and the train is derailing fast too.....

BTW, I am so happpy these days I just do not know how else to describe it.....Euphoria does come to mind.....

I think Therrien is an idiot. If it comes down to Therrien vs. Subban, Subban wins everyday in my book.

If not, Habs management are idiots and learned nothing from the Patrick Roy trainwreck......... scratch that..... I meant TRAINWRECK.

http://www.sportsnet.ca/hockey/nhl/...errien-not-backing-down-from-subban-comments/

On Friday, Therrien said he felt the response was understandably blown out of proportion based on Subban’s popularity and the nature of Montreal as a hockey market. He also insisted his decision to blame Subban publicly was nothing personal.

“It would’ve been any guy—I’m going to repeat myself—in that situation, that time of the game; we would’ve mentioned that that was not the right play to do,†said Therrien. “It’s not because it was P.K. I want you to trust me on this because we want our players to learn and we want them to be better.â€

When pressed about whether or not he and Subban have a strained relationship, Therrien said it was to the contrary.

“He’s a loveable guy,†Therrien said in French. “He wants nothing but good for everyone. He’s always in a playful mood—we have no problem with that. We want enthusiastic and emotional guys like that. It’s fun working with him.â€

Happy hour is fast approaching, let's drink to that! :handclap:

I highly doubt they move him.

Off the top of my head there arent many teams that could come up with a package as well as afford him.

Spezza+ ? Not ideal. They'd be wanting a Barkov but Florida have no need to do that. RyJo + from Columbus may have.

I like Felger's passion (no I don't) but duuuude just shut up. Hess like the loud mouth guy who says stuff just for the sake of saying stuff so attention will go his way. I'd like Sweeney to 'invite' Felger for a day in the life of Don just before trade deadline so when Felger asks all these stupid questions like "Why don't ya just trade this guy?" Don can just tell him why, or put Felger on the phone to one of his buds and tell him its a GM for another team

Guys a fool. That being said, if theres no first for Loui then it has to be an NHL ready body + a pick.
Who the hell cares what Felger says anyway? I stopped listening to him a few years ago. Got the NHL channel on my Sirius radio. At least there's rational dialogue

But some still buy what Felger's selling, obviously. ;)

Dreger says the report is false

http://www.tsn.ca/dreger-report-subban-isn-t-going-anywhere-1.440394

P.K Subban isn't going anywhere.

He's not being shopped and the Habs aren't calling around to see if there's a market for the $9 million dollar star. And if calls are being received from rival GMs hoping to loot the train wreck that's the Canadiens' season, Marc Bergevin isn't listening.
Perhaps things change in the future - maybe as early as the summer if the Habs continue to slide - but the sense is there will be other changes considered (and likely made) before thinking of moving Subban out of Montreal.

Sure, we may revisit this story in the months and years ahead. But as of right now, Subban's immediate future in Montreal isn't in jeopardy.
