I know for a fact that Tavares had told that he would re-sign with NYI and then effed them over. NYI could have gotten something for him he did not intend to sign there. Thats some bad karma I guess. Would have been nice to put that 11 AAV to better use for the Leafs and probably matthews and marner contracts don't get bloated either
