Only a matter of time until Nashville dumps Brunette for Q. A true Uno reverse card considering the reverse happened in Florida.
As a Bruins fan....God I hope you're wrong.
For the bottom clubs, if it's a development year, HC survival is how those kids are performing. If not getting something out of them, then the GM can't waste another half the season of no to limited development. The teams in the bottom don't have a real reason to fire their coach in terms of righting the ship. You can always do that in the summer and just play out the season. Sometimes they go with an interim coach, but yeah I never bank on those teams.
Sullivan, MSL, Cronin etc. are basically those guys. Maybe, maybe not.
The teams that are not in a good spot and still think they can be a playoff team already have coaches that were hired in the summer or last year, like Brunette or Bylsma.
I guess right now Montgomery is the only guy who fits the bill on an early-season firing, but the B's have won 3 out of 4 games so they seem to be getting better. And you can't have much more regular season success than what he had in his first 2 years, personally I think he deserves the chance to see through a different type of season.
I think the eyes will be on teams that potentially struggle later on and keep falling in the standings. Like LA last year, as well as a potential interim for the likes of Sullivan. But yeah I'm personally not expecting a firing right now.
Jeremy Colliton come on down!If Oilers continue to play .500 hockey, it may put pressure on Bowman and he may want to put "his" coach in... Knoblauch was hired under Holland... But then again firing coaches every year doesn't look good on the organization.
Cronin will f*** a rebuild into the ground if he's allowed to keep coaching the Ducks. Their best draft picks aside from Sennecke, Solberg, and Luneau are in the NHL right now and the team is not improving and has arguably regressed from last year. If Verbeek has any sense, he'll give him to the end of the month and have new candidates ready to go.Ah I think it may be possible
Penguins will ride and die with Sullivan
Detroit appears to have righted the ship
Despite recent criticism in Montreal MSL appears safe
Blackhawks, Ducks, and Flyers are all still rebuilding
Friedman advised on 32 thoughts that there is no current panic or sort in Boston
In a League where coaches last 2 years on average this would be interesting
