thst pick was traded without knowing where it would end up.

Colorado got Ottawa top 5 in Duchene deal
Anaheim got a pick at 10 in Bobby Ryan deal

they have had trades between thr top 3 in thrSedin year and 3004.
therr have bern som3 movement in the top 10 moving up 1-3 spots.

nobody knowingly having a top 3 traded out Of that.

peop, like to lookat the nfl and see traded draft picks were teams have traded up high from far out. Thr problrm is because in the nfl you have many many positions there just isn’t as big of a drop off from the 1st at a position and 3rd or 4th at a position. Teams get pact players in the mid rounds. In thr nhl there just is a huge drop off in superstar potential in players picked in top 3 vs those picked 10-15 And therr is a big drop off from 10-15 to mid20s
...I can't tell if you're trying to repeat or rebut what I said. :scared:

Never heard of these ones myself. Altho I do remember pretty much everybody thinking for a while that Jones was destined to go there and being shocked when he dropped.
Can't speak to the first one, but I was at the 2014 draft in Philly, and the chatter was real. It was kind of an open secret in the parking lot that the Flyers were putting a full-court press on to try and get #1, presumably for Ekblad. I also remember hearing Simmonds' name being bandied about, and that he was the sticking point. I don't feel too broken up about it not happening, though; Sanheim is a pretty solid player. There's only a small handful of guys who went earlier that are definite improvements, and losing Simmonds to make it happen would have cost us that couple games of Ryan Hartman.

Have I mentioned recently that Fletcher should be put on trial for the murder of the Philadelphia Flyers?
