Speculation: Could Bedard be offersheeted next summer?

Id do 1 year x $11,452,294 and try to make a deal with Bedard afterwards. I wouldn't go at 4 1st round picks since the Habs are still barely a playoffs team. Maybe a team like Dallas or Colorado could offer something stupid like 1 year @ 17 millions just to get him out of there

Hawks would likely match though.
Don't see any GM offering 4 1st round picks for 1 year of certainty. The 1 year deals are much better for players who need a team to give them more minutes, more opportunity, and bump in pay from what they're going to get from their current team. It's hard to try and pry an elite player with a 1 year deal that will cost that many picks.

There's a 0% chance Chicago wouldn't match 1 x $11M...

No matter what an offer sheet is that’s given the Blackhawks could match…it’d be a clear attempt to handcuff the Hawks and depending on the team(more than likely a bad team) the compensation would be FOUR 1st rounders…as Bedard would not accept less than $11.5 million…people have to remember that if Bedard signed a max deal next year($14 million per for eight years)…two three years later he’s a steal as the cap will continue to climb

Vancouver would. They would be pretty certain they could sign him

9 million 5 years Calgary, costs 1st, 2nd, 3rd, Chicago most likely matches, but imagine stealing him fr
