Da Big Apple
Zibanejad (20% retained)
2025 1st
2026 1st
Rempe or depth prospect

for

Schmaltz
Bjugstad (50% retained rental)

How's that? Getting closer at least?
let me rescue you

Zib has full nmc only place we think he might waive is VAN b'c eliasPett
VAN only wants at max 50% retained to 42.5
AND ONLY to give up scrubs

that works for NYR

rest of it, we're keeping Rempe
Smith, Carrick are available
depending on price some D are available

The F utah could use is Panarin, but does not seem he wants to waive far from nyc at least for time being...

Uh no, Panarin would have no interest to Utah. They are deep, extremely so, on wings, both now and in the future, and lack a true #1C. Panarin also wouldn't be worth the cost to them to acquire and doesn't fit their timeline whatsoever. Bob Armstrong has also gone on record multiple times to say that he doesn't believe in giving older UFA age players long contracts.

OP is serious, but people are not reading the OP correctly (as per usual).

OP asks "how much do Rangers need to add to this to make this a fair trade?".
OP does NOT ask "is this a fair trade the way that it is right now with nothing added?"
That's why this is labeled a VALUE OF thread, not a PROPOSAL thread.
The answer has been given to you repeatedly since page one.

Multiple high draft picks equivalent of value, ideally in a hockey trade because Utah already have so many assets in that sphere already.

You just didn't like that answer, apparently.

I stand corrected
would have sworn I just saw a post like bread + this for 2 players and a pick
and I wanted to interject bread is a good target [in theory] but nmc makes a move out west unlikely

you have properly noted the bold means here theory not correct in a vacuum
thanks

Olofström
to Utah Hockey Club

Mika Zibanejad (6y @ $8.50m)

to New York Rangers

Nick Schmaltz (2y @ $5.85m)

This move helps the Rangers move on from Zibanejad's huge contract as he's declining. It makes the team younger, provides more cap and roster flexibility long-term, and opens up $1.07m in cap space for this season.

What would NYR have to give to UTA to make this a fair trade?
I always thought that Zibanejad was a good 1st center for NYR this year, the Swedish star barely touched the puck inside the opposing team's blue line, Swedish is making a bad season of his star status, maybe it's time to trade Nick Schmaltz for Zibanejad. The Swedish has a dark season in the old top team of ten, eleven or twelve seasons, a finals loss in the 2010s, absolutely, I think of course NYR should organize two, three trades, since nothing is best, we sacrifice the thirty-thirty-three year old great talent Schmaltz, NYR can win without Zibanejad. Zibanejad is dead meat. But we only trade Schmaltz for Zibanejad. In any case, I have nothing against new NHLers for NYR, a trade of Schmaltz for Zibanejad.
