Everyone looks attractive when they’re wearing a mask.
That’s actually one of the reasons everyone should be wearing a mask these days.

Yeah it’s hard to believe that there are people arguing long and loud for things to be locked down while at the same time questioning the idea that private gatherings are the biggest culprit in spreading this virus. When you are at the office, grocery store, mall, you are presumably wearing a mask and not talking and laughing loudly .... and in two of those three situations you are probably walking around and not staying in one closed space for a long time. When you are at Bob’s place to watch a game you are presumably not wearing a mask because you are filling your face with food, beer/weed. You are laughing and talking in a closed room with people outside your immediate family. I mean it’s a no brainer to assess which type of behaviour is more risky. Not to mention that going to the store/work is kind of necessary while celebrating Suzy’s birthday with the neighbour kids is kind of not. Nonetheless we will still have some folks saying ‘the contact tracing doesn’t show that definitively’ or ‘the data doesn’t support that notion’.no but if this is like every other virus in the history of mankind, large indoor gatherings are the main culprit
hence the "cold and flu" season
If that's the case, I'll have to wear one around the house so I can get some action!Everyone looks attractive when they’re wearing a mask.

I don't know that will work unless the wife has severe memory loss.If that's the case, I'll have to wear one around the house so I can get some action!
Pair the mask with a Trojan and you’ll be doubly protected.

If you wear that around the house you’re definitely going to get some action. Not sure I trust those guys.
I really don't want to debate politics. I myself was a long time supporter of the PC's but I simply cannot understand the Kenney or Shandro support here. They waited too long to do anything. They just kept harping on personal responsibility. Like, okay that doesn't do anything. Doctors and experts were sounding the alarm in September and they did nothing. ICU beds at capacity is bad. They aren't there yet but it's close.
When they finally do something it's half assed measures. I understand the debt and I understand that keeping businesses closed hurts people. I get all of it.
But here's what they did, they didn't put in a province wide mask mandate. Only in Edmonton and Calgary who already have that in place. Good, they limit private gatherings, but allow bars, casinos, and churches to continue at reduced capacity and at the same time close schools. That's the wrong message.
To me, this government has played politics a lot with this pandemic. Fighting with doctors, not using the federal tracing app, using the but Trudeau line when there's any criticism. It's a pandemic. Politics aside, this stuff should of been done three weeks ago. I'm tired of it.
Not to mention, I think the K-6 kids are still going live till the break. And 7-12's are getting close to exam time anyhow, so they'd likely be having a few class breaks in the next while (if I remember my own kids experiences). At any rate, close enough to the finish line for them, that no biggie, and no sense taking further chances this close to Christmas, and the temptation to gather after class.there’s already mask mandates in almost every single county in the Province. People continually harp on that as some glaring thing that the government didn’t do, but it’s already covered for any area where Covid is found.
Maybe once we get to the ‘great reset’?Politicians aren't going to magically start holding hands and singing Kumbaya
Maybe once we get to the ‘great reset’?
the latest restrictions for only for 3 weeks, then they'll re-evaluate afterwardsWhat strange times we live in. Illegal to gather in your own home with your own family for the holidays. I know i know, virus, flatten the curve for a second time, yadda yadda. You know the logical reasons, but something in the back of your mind says it does not feel right somehow. Like the government feeling obliged to enforce what goes on in your own home. Granted its not like you are allowed to break the law in your own home anyways, you can't do drugs or beat the crap out of your family, understood. But paying fines that could be as high as 100 000 dollars feels like an overreaction.
Will I social distance and not see my family? Yup. I will sacrifice this Christmas like I have this Thanksgiving, last years Easter, etc. But if they ask me to sacrifice next Christmas, if this crap is still going on, I will tell the Government to shove it. I will play along temporarily but i foresee a future that in order to look out for us peasants they will enforce a lot more rules like this more because they will tell us they know what's best for us.
Either its a slippery slope or a hill full of nothing, I just don't trust our elected officials to not change the world permanently based on what's going on now. September 11th happened and it affected one country, but somehow we got stuck with a system of super strict airport restrictions, more justified surveillance world wide and the planet was never the same after that event. They used a tragedy to benefit themselves and their corporate buddies. I just fear that the world is not going back to normal even if we clear this hurdle. This does not feel right. Am i crazy?
I vote yes by the way.

Well again I think you are purposedly misinterpreting their points of view. I know you are saying finincial ruin/lost business, but at the same time you are quoting quality of life. For some that might mean finincial ruin, for others no holidays or steak dinners. Where do you draw the line? Because one quality of life is not like the other.
I mean that is pretty easy to misinterpret right back (especially since I don't think most people talking about harsher restrictions want what you are saying).
Right now we are seeing on here almost as a matter-of-fact that harsh restrictions is worse because of lost business, but that is a point of view. Of course shared by many who know more than we do, but also not shared by many who also know more than we do (and don't wish finincial ruin on other people). Let's not pretend this is a matter of fact issue, because you know very well that it isn't.

I vote yes by the way. I am not comfortable with giving the government so much power as to control 100 percent of what goes on in our own, now we have given them a way in and an excuse because of fear. I trust the doctor's and officials but not to the point of ignoring my own critical thinking. When something starts feeling off i will make a point to mention it, right now its fine we know pandemics require strict regulation, I just don't want them to intrude in our homes permanently.
