I know a lot of the discussion is on Cam Fowler, but would the ducks be interested in potentially moving their biggest contract to gain cap space?

Obviously Ottawa would need to find a suitor for Ryan, but what would it take to get Perry out of Anaheim.

I'm completely open to moving Getzlaf/Perry because I think this core is done being a Cup contender. I don't know if Ottawa has the kind of young forward(s) I'd be willing to move him for though. I'd have a top prospect forward + 1st + short term cap dump as the basis for any Getzlaf/Perry deal.

Ottawa has absolutely no interest in Corey Perry. Makes no sense to even inquire on him since we have Stone/Ryan on our right side. He's too old to be apart of our core and makes way too much. Anaheim is a possible contender and they have no reason to move him unless a team overpays by a tremendous amount for his services.

Ottawa has White or Brown that could work as the prospect.

No interest in Perry though unless Ryan goes the other way or we can move Ryan somewhere else first.

I'd also say retain Perry down to 8m and we wont send a cap dumb back (assuming we move Ryan somewhere else)

Corey Perry is one of the few players in the NHL that would make the team he was traded to lose fans

Would Perry waive his no-movement clause to go to Ottawa?

Unlikely. No disrespect to Ottawa, but for Perry to waive, he would need to sufficiently desire it himself. A Kessel type of a move to a true contender shouldn't be a out of question. But Sens are no Pens, unfortunately.

He would cost a lot, if Anaheim actually wanted to move him it would likely only be serious Cup threats inquiring and willing to pony up.

I like Perry but he isnt really what Ottawa needs ,we need a healthy Macarther or his equivilent.A 5 million dollar top 6 lw ,not a elite first line

The OP proposes many deals in a week, but that doesn't mean that the Sens are looking to make as many trades! Reasons why this doesn't make sense for Ottawa :

- Sens can't afford to do this because Corey Perry is owed 44 millions for 5 seasons (including this one). Ryan absolutely has to go the other way then

- Sacrificing Brown/White/Perron/Dahlen/Chlapik AND a first to get another BIG contract?

- Offense doesn't seem to be the problem for Ottawa. We need better 2-way play. For Bergeron yes I'd make a big move. Turris + White + 1st (not that Bergeron have any desire to move Bergeron and not that Turris is bad defensively but you get my meaning). Perry is not the type of player the Sens should target.

So the question(s) are what would the Sens need to add to upgrade Ryan to Perry and why the Ducks would do this as they already had Ryan before and they actually need Perry more?

Don't want Perry and his terrible contract

Sens already have a goal-scoring RW on a terrible contract, don't need another one.

Dream on. They are scoring challenged as it is they will not move him or Getz.

Theres a difference between overpaid and terrible. Perry and Ryan are only like 1-1.5Mil overpaid, if they made that much less nobody would complain.

Now on topic. Would love Perry in Ottawa. But he would be a Luxury and right now we have needs that need to be addressed first. Can see why ANA doesnt want to move him either, he'll likely retire there with Getz as lifers. Which in todays game is amazing
