Pretty sure we don't see Copp in a Jets uni next season.
For the Overhardt side of the story on Copp's last arbitration, see this:
andrew copp Archives - Boutique Hockey Agency - KO Sports
It comes across as whiny on the part of KO, and reads like it's trying to dupe a hockey novice who doesn't know what the arbitration process is like. But the language is still serious, Copp said they were "going to war". The point of the process is to arrive at a fair conclusion, so the organization always has to lowball to balance out the agent's highball. I hope this didn't sour things beyond repair.
Most players who go through that process don't stay with the team for long after so yeah I'd imagine things are a bit strained.
Copp's is highly intelligent & well spoken, on par with both Lowry & Morrissey.
I'm sure he understands the process & isn't affected at all.
I see Copp signing his deal with Chevy before Pionk does.
We shall see, there seems to be a lot of smoke around shopping him though which is odd of both parties want to go long term together.

We shall see. I agree with your description of Copp, but there are some challenges:
1)Signing Dillon makes Pionk-Dillon our de facto first pairing and mitigates the size concern with Pionk. I think the team has made the decision to invest in Pionk long term--with the right partner and if he stays healthy, he has unlimited potential.
2)With the Jets' cap constraints, signing Stastny to an overpriced (IMO) contract made it that much harder to give Copp what he deserves. That is why I expressed concern about the the Stastny signing--it's not about him, it's about Copp and the mythical RHD we also ideally need.
3)Precisely because he is highly intelligent & well spoken, on par with both Lowry & Morrissey, he knows he needs to cash in on his great season long-term. As an American, with a college degree in business, and with Trouba's agent, I expect this will be all about business. There are many teams in the US who recognize his enviable combination of ability, character, telegenicity and leadership.
My hockey heart hopes I am wrong and all parties find away to make a deal, but my head can't add up the needs and the numbers.

I hope the Jets have offered a fair long term contract to him and not just arbitration ready deal... Copp has done everything we’ve ever asked and never complained
Jets have firmly established this 3-year window with the acquisition of Schmidt and Dillon that it would be a mistake to use a 1-year arbitrated Copp as a "self-rental". They need to find a suitor - maybe after tomorrow if team's miss out on the likes of Danault. Need to get another ELC forward that has underappreciated value on their current team.

They can't even afford his arb award contract with how things are setting up. We are going to need to fill out our forward core with cheap ELC and vet deals to be cap compliant.
I wonder if the signing of Stastny is a step before a Copp trade. Stastny gives the Jets a solid LW / C option for the next year, while Perfetti develops and Gustafsson and Vesalainen adjust to their roles. A year from now, Stastny will be off the books, PLD will be getting a raise, and Perfetti should be ready to move into the line-up as as top 6 option. Also, Vesalainen and Gus can play bigger roles, with Torgersson maybe even making a push for a bottom 6 role.
If the Jets have any future plans to take a run at a UFA like Pulock next off-season, then Stastny at 1 year is a better option than Copp at 4.5M+ for several years, especially with the Jets young forwards in the pipeline.
