for awhile we had a conspiracy theories and unsolved mysteries thread where posters had fun talking about conspiracy theories and unsolved mysteries and other dark matters that some of us found amusing

thought I would take this board back to those days

unsolved mistery 1 butch cassidy and the sundance kid

according to officially history--butch and sundance met their maker in Bolivia

one slight probelm

about 20 years later the family of Butch Cassidy claimed that butch was alive and was known as someone else--what gives this some weight is Cassidy's sister who took no money and reportedly did not make money off of her brother(she was a devout Morman) saying that Butch lived to the age of 71

Place was the name the maiden name of the Sundance kids mother
. The only known facts of Etta Place is during her time with the Sundance Kids--nothing is known prior to her getting involved with the sundance kid and nothing is known of her after his reported death--the only thing that is known is that Etta Place was not her name

Oak is a favorite of mine

Folklore is a great thing when it comes to conning people. I first heard of Oak Island when working the Oil fields in Alberta--I was working with one of the former owners of the Island and he made it clear that the mystery of Oak Island was not what was on or under the Island--but the folklore that went with the island. There is even a reality TV show on the Island where they find stuff from Vikings to Pirate stuff found on the Island--but when actual scientist get involvedof the stuff it is proven fake. The reality TV show now goes to great lengths to prevent any actually study of artifacts to be taken. ON the reality show--"Scientific" observers can only look at stuff found at no longer take them to laboratories to study
