I thought Anora was great and deserving of all the accolades. I think sometimes it's tough for the masses to rate character dramas on the level of more obvious, epic awards-bait but I felt it lived up to the hype. I still think about it, especially living in Brooklyn for 15+ years. And the end of it, the exhaustion of it, is very appropriate to the time we live in.

Also saw Heretic last night. Really fun, Hugh Grant is great - I love seeing him in these kind of roles.
The ending doesn't quite stick the landing philosophically, kind of chickens out but I guess it would feel cheap if it was definitive as well.

I don't care about the Oscars but I feel like I'm pretty up to date in movies and what's going on, I go every few weeks, never saw a trailer or poster or even heard of Anora until seeing it win everything so guess I live under a rock lol

Just rewatched Breaking Bad for the 10th time with my girlfriend who saw it for the first time. God I envied her the entire way. Nothing comes close to watching that show the first time, for me at least
I'd be more jealous to rewatch Better Call Saul for the first time. I think BB is great but BCS is elite on so many levels that BB set the foundation for.

This is how I wish I could watch Sopranos again for the first time. I saw it during covid lockdowns for the first time and it was the greatest show ever in my eyes lol. I might go back eventually and watch it again though. BB is up there for me too

I remember that came in college for me and I just gave up on like the 1st season mid way through. I need to go back and re-watch it in that case lol

I just watched it with my friend a few weeks ago. It was his first time. We zoomed through it pretty quickly over the four nations break, since there were a lot of nights without hockey. So I had him over at my place and we watched. So many crazy momentum swings. I watched it in its original run. I forgot it was that good.

We're trying to figure out what to watch next. I said Better Call Saul is really good and the prequel and (minor spoiler) does eventually catch up to the Breaking Bad timeline and features appearances from almost every important character you can think of.
