Player Discussion: Conor Geekie

Honestly curious if he sees some time with the crunch. Showed some flashes on the west coast trip but has looked bad/unnoticeable since.

With how little ice time he gets I have to wonder if it would be better for him to be one of the #1 guys down there for a bit

Geekie has been on a tear lately in the AHL, 8 games point streak (8G 2A).
That he has, but more specifically, he's been on a tear on the power play, as 8 of his 11 goals are PPG. It's encouraging to see him score in any situation though.

Crunch is fighting for playoff spot and Geekie-Finley-Sheary line is playing great, I don't see them calling him up. His biggest problem in NHL was agility and physical game, not sure if he has improved on those areas yet.

I hope he develops a bit of a mean side to his game. Once he puts on more strength and improves his skating, he could be such a force out there. I felt like he almost didn't realize his size at times earlier in the season. His brother Morgan will get feisty every now and then, so I think it's there somewhere.

Pretty sure that preseason beatdown he put on the Panthers guy solidified his spot on the opening night roster right then & there, so it would be nice to see him remind people every now and then that he's not to be played with. Not fighting wise but just being a big guy that can't be pushed around. Nice to have a prospect of that caliber in the org.
