With all the uncertainty around Quinn Hughes, ans Pettersson, and Demko it looks as though Vancouver is about to go through a major retool.

I'm calling it a retool because I've watched this sport for 25 years, the Vancouver Canucks have never rebuilt, it doesn't happen they don't do it.

Garland has a year left on his deal and given the current state of the team you have to wonder if he's up for an extension.

If he's not and he becomes available I think Vancouver gets a decent haul for him.

It will be seen as less then then it would be in years past because this is seen as a weaker draft but I still think they'd get a good package for him.

I've been a Garland guy for a long time, I think he could help A LOT of teams.

I think he'd be a great fit in

Colorado
Winnipeg
Vegas
Edmonton
Dallas
Tampa
Florida
Ottawa
Toronto
Washington
NYR

there are A LOT of teams that could use this guy in my opinion.

Vancouver needs to get their house in order and figure out who wants to be a Canuck and who does not. Hughes will be 24 months away from UFA after this season ends and Vancouver needs to know what his plans are. IF the Devil reports are to be believed and that in 24 months he will be a devil--do the nucks wait that long to sign him?

Oilers can resgin McDavid on July 1st 2025 and we know full well if he is no signed by the 2nd we will see lots of threads on him wanting out of Edmonton. Vancouver will be in the same boat July 1st 2026

Good post as a Nucks fan if there is one guy I think they might move this offseason that actually has some decent value it's Garland. Word on the street last year was there were a lot of GM's that were asking about him. No surprise as he was close to being our top player for a good portion of the first half of last season. One year left hurts his value a little bit potentially but you would think a team would trade for him with the expectations of wanting to extend him.

Play driving middle 6 guy who can play in your top 6 quite easily currently signed for this season at 5mlll (finishing up a 4 year deal).

Depends what route the Nucks go I'm hoping he would be part of a package to get us a 2/3C with upside althou not sure which of those teams above have a C that fits that description. Zib in NYR? Lundell in FL? That would probably leave him being swapped for a younger winger with upside.

On his own his value is probably a 2nd + B or B+ level prosepct.

I don't think he gets Lundell out of Florida, that's not going to happen especially since I think there is a fairly decent chance Bennett is heading to free agency.

I think Ekblad probably is hence why they acquired Jones, I think he's the long term replacement.

Bennett I'm not as confident in but I still think there is a decent chance.

If they think Bennett is leaving Lundell goes nowhere.

Unless they can move him for another top 6 forward, they’re unlikely to move him prior to the trade deadline.

You might be right, like I said I expect them retool and not rebuild because they are going to want to show Quinn Hughes he can win there.

I wouldn't be surprised if the #15 pick gets moved.

Where? I don't know, I know there has been talk of Buffalo moving Byram but I doubt they want more picks.

There has been talk of Minnesota moving Rossi.

I think that would be a HUGE mistake by Minnesota but maybe there is something there.

Very small 3rd line winger. Scores 15-20 goals and 40-50 points. Not a first unit PP guy and doesn’t PK. One year left until a UFA. Five mil on the cap. Will be 30 when next contract starts.
Does this guy have any value other than returning someone with a similar profile?
Maybe the smartest trade if Gsrland would be for the highest draft pick possible (3rd?) and allocating his cap to keep Suter???

He's getting more then a 3rd be realistic

Produces like a second liner, great at even strength, and can drive a line. Who cares if he's small when he wins most of his board battles. Vancouver shouldn't trade him.

Byram really doesn’t make any sense anymore, unless they end up moving Hughes. Alex Tuch is a player on Buffalo I can see Vancouver having interest in but I doubt they’d have what Buffalo would want.

Haul...defined that?

Hes a one yr to UFA rental. At thr deadline he gets a 1/2+ prospect. 1/2 depends on the teams position and the prospect quality.
