God Cassie Campbell is still employed doing color. Wholy shit. Talk about DEI.
I had to watch ESPN+ tonight. Callahan being the colour refused to give the Oilers much credit all night. He said good things in the beginning but had to always prop the loser Blues.

After the first period which I thought we dominated, he said the shots were deceiving and the Blues were much better than the shot totals indicated. Maybe it’s the flu running through my old veins but I thought we toyed with them at that point.

He also thought Drai should have received an interference call near the end when yes, he did grab the stick, but then the Blues player somehow managed to fall down because of it. Doesn’t matter that it happens to him and Connor 10 times per night. Callahan thought it deserved a PP. one of those nights when I missed Gene and friends - tm.

Sigh. At least we came through. Still wish we had that Holloway kid but he chased the $$ unfortunately.

Agreed, but man the cost...I imagine he would re-sign at a decent number to chase some cups with greatness. 1st and Savoie? Might be what it takes. Though we have a good trade relationship with Boston. Hopefully less. Do you pull the trigger?

I do whatever we can to win. With they way the camp is I increasing Rantanen could actually happen. He would be unreal with either Connor or Leon.

Best game from Connor in awhile IMO. Skinner was just good enough to get us the W. 2nd best goalie tonight but he was good overall.

I don’t want to pile on Skinner because tonight isn’t the night to do it.

But I think the Parayko goal just shows his weakness which should be pretty apparent already. I feel he barely even moves. If he at least gets partially accross that goal doesn’t go in. Parayko pretty much shot it into where his pads should be.

If you look at Draisaitl goal, Binnington gets nearly across but Draisaitl places it in a position that is a much more difficult spot. If that was Skinner, he wouldn’t of even been close.

If we face a team that moves the puck laterally accross the ice, there’s significant danger with Skinner in net. But I think most of us know this by now.

The Thomas open net miss and the Brown goal are pretty comparable plays. Skinner literally doesn’t even move. Binnington makes somewhat of an attempt to make a save.

Anyone who says he was amazing is either blind or insane.

This has always been his problem. He played exactly how the team needed him too. Nothing crazy, just good, consistent goaltending.

They didn't need a .940 tonight, if this was him all the time, no one would be complaining. This is a 51-53 win team walking away with the kind of goaltending they got tonight. It's just too bad that this doesn't happen all the time.

Boy I'm sure glad the Oilers won tonight!

It appears Lames fans have finally snapped!

Absolute justice. What a bullshit call on Ekholm to gift the Blues the tying goal. As clean a hit as you could lay, and then they double down with the non-call on the Hyman boarding, easily an actual egregious hit and at minimum 20 times worse than the Ekholm "penalty". And then the Blues are crying because Thomas somehow falls down from his stick being held. And his stick is in there the first place hooking Draisaitl anyways. Cry harder, Blues fans. Go find your jock straps, offer sheet traitors.

The offersheet bros on for the OT GWG

For me, go and get your money. That part is fine.

But to leave 97 and 29 for chances of a cup and maybe make more long term. I remember Michael Jordan said something like "If you aren't with me, then go fu** yourself"

Something from the last dance I believe. That's how I am with these two.

Suck it Broberg

He looks like he is trying to suck it actually..

Insert Jesse P joke here
I blame Knob and his constant need to F'ing with lines. Nuge isn't a strong 5v5 player- so Knob pairs him with Hyman completely neutralizing him. Skinner is coming on, pure shooter- put him with Kap and Philp- completely neutralize him. Drai and McDavid together- kill the depth (although it was pointed out it may have been because McDavid was sick). Boman must have zero clue what the team needs because of the constant messing around. I was listening to the Get Yer Back pod. It was asked by a poster- "Does the second unit PP not getting time, and thus lack of offensive touches, have a mental impact on their 5 on 5 game?". Rob Brown said "absolutely it does".

I would like to see these line
53-97- 33 (53 and 33 shoot all the time and 97 doesn't like to)
42 (or 19/90) 29-18 (Drai likes to cycle- so do these other 2)

Then assess what you need in the top 6. Having 33 and 53 to start with 29 was stupid. None of them play the style Drai does. Drives me mental. you already know what you have with McDrai on the same line.

like I said, McDavid exposed those N/A's for the frauds they are
Not a fan of Broberg- but I f'n love Holloway. Guy was sent down last year (when he shouldn't have been) never complained- worked on his game, got better, came up and snatched a spot. He had an excellent playoffs. You pay your homegrown talent. Should have locked him up first before going UFA shopping. How good would he look on 29's wing (like he was most of that playoff run) this year. Like he got all that playoff experience and learned. I will never understand it
