Player Discussion Connor Zary, C, (2020 24th Overall)

No fracture is good? Isn’t ACL/MCL stuff more from like an awkward bend than direct contact? I’m not a doctor

IIRC, ACL/MCL tears are a little more permanent than a broken bone and will never fully heal. It'll always be at less than 100% and will have nagging pain and inflammation. A broken bone can still go back to 100%.

You prefer MCL over ACL injury, but honestly, perhaps a fracture over either.

One thing to remember though, a broken femur can be EXTREMELY dangerous, even life threatening. If there is a displaced fracture it can cut an artery, blood vessels and/or nerves.

Great news to start, I don't care at all about Zary's performance this January would much rather see him be solid to finish and through the off-season hopefully team feels the same way and gets him closer to 100% than we have players in the past

You guys still have something functional you can call a knee?

so... 3 weeks?
Hes allowed to skate with Flames staff over the 4 Nations break, since hes injured. Id think hes a good 4-6 weeks longer though. Hes going to have to do a couple weeks of light skates, then non contact practices and then full contact practices. With Frost here and the team playing well, dont rush him.
