Connor McDavid with his eight 100 point season - now tied with Dionne for 3rd most, only Wayne and Mario ahead

This must be the quietest 100 point season for him.

Wish he was fully healthy this season. Would have been another AR for him.
Think he been just passing time this year, his eyes were set on the playoffs from the get go. He wants to go in healthy this year. He litterally only started to look like him self the last week or so. Other then that he has looked pretty rough all year by his standards

I wish he went all out from the start so the doubters had no ammo but this makes sense. He’s been playing pretty risk averse since the start of the season.

He has 2 fewer 100-point seasons than Ovechkin & Crosby combined (10 seasons vs 40 combined seasons)

Yet it's still a sensitive topic when you talk about who is top 5 all-time

If he remains at least +1 tonight, he’ll finish his 7th season at +20 or higher, which is one more than Crosby, Ovechkin, and Malkin combined.

That’s seven times in ten seasons compared to six times in fifty nine seasons.

Doesn’t mean everything, but still interesting.

That Covid shortened season is a bummer. He’d be at 9 straight 100 point seasons if not for the 11 lost games from covid.

Take heart in the fact that this is merely a nuisance on his resume, rather than needed to be pointed to because he doesn’t have enough seasons to explain his dominance.

That’s what makes McDavid different for me. Crosby/Ovi had histrionic starts to their careers, with 8 of their 10 100 pts seasons coming in 2010 or earlier. McDavid maintaining this level up to age 28+ and staying healthy to achieve these milestones so far is very special.

The Sid Crosby Fan Boi Club is gushing about their hero averaging a point-per-game for his career.

McDavid has averaged over 100points per season for his career.

There’s no question that he’s a much better player than Crosby and the gulf between them is just going to get bigger and bigger every season.
