So if it was so easy why has Edmonton not done all you said? You have McDavid. The hard part as you say. My point is don’t pass on your problems to Dallas. It’s always a flawed thinking when people say you can flip guys once you get them as a selling point. If they could be flipped your team would have done that.Dallas could fairly easily turn around and trade Kane / Arvidsson / Dumba + Stuart Skinner + pick/prospect to a team for a goalie (Kochetkov carolina, Merzlikins columbus, Ingram utah, Gibson anaheim, Grubauer seattle, Demko vancouver). Even if they need to retain money on Kane / Arvidsson / Dumba to get that deal done, they could do that, because all of those guys have only 1 year left on their deals.
The hard part is getting McDavid. The easier part by comparison is making other trades to fix the roster after you've acquired McDavid.
EDIT - "a top 5 goalie, you need that to win" -> this isn't how the NHL works
"Having McDavid is a cap problem" is not Edmonton's problem. Overpaying overpaying Nurse and a bunch of cap locked up with non-core guys like Kane, Arvidsson, Henrique, Campbell's buyout, AND they're trying to pay McDavid AND Draisaitl is Edmonton's problem. Another team wouldn't inherit all of those problems when they trade for McDavid. Edmonton's ability to be creative and make some moves to add a goalie is also not inherited by another team when they trade for McDavid. So if it was so easy why has Edmonton not done all you said? What? Your original proposal added a ton of dead weight to McDavid. Which you then say Dallas can just flip and get other pieces. Kane, Arvidsson and skinner are dead weight. You have to pay to move those guys. On top of that you want several high end players from Dallas."Having McDavid is a cap problem" is not Edmonton's problem. Not that I think he leaves but his wife opening a bar really means nothing.Hes wife just opened a bar in downtown Edmonton and his best friend extended for 8 years you dont think he would of told Drai if he had any intentions of leaving no chance Leon extends if he wasnt sure Connor was staying
The whole management will get fired before McDavid goes anywhere
So you call out the guy who wants a good return for the best player in hockey, yet say nothing about the bad offer to bring McDavid to your team?Little over valuing your guy there. No GM would move oettinger, Johnston and Robertson. Not even for McDavid.
Nope. If you are referring to the original offer I ignored it cause clearly was not well thought out. Offering picks Dallas does not have shows the guy has no idea what he is talking about. Not worth commenting on trash offers. So you call out the guy who wants a good return for the best player in hockey, yet say nothing about the bad offer to bring McDavid to your team?
