Aww yeah, this is the personality standard Sid should aspire to.

Yeah the point they're making is, you can't only tweet endorsements. People don't follow an athlete because they were hoping to exclusively be sold things. Need balance.

I think the article has a point but dresses it up as too much of a diss.

It's mostly talking about the percentage of his tweets that are endorsements, not that he uses twitter for endorsemeents

It would benefit McDavid to tweet more stuff personally, to add a lot more of the tweets that people want in with the endorsement stuff. That would actually expand his twitter base by making following him more enjoyable, and he might even get more endorsement cash in the end.

I love hockey but man trying to police every thing players do and how they joke and act is so annoying and legitimately drives people away.

Obviously I'm not talking DUIs or domestic abuse, but McDavid is 20. He wants to let his publicist tweet endorsements for Clorox all day? Who cares?

Honestly the world is too PC for conservative leaning players to show personality, just look at the feels people caught because he dressed up as God Emperor Trump. Gained some respect for him, just like Matthews dismissed the kneeling nonsense, gonna be good to have him here in TO running show with Mats in some time.

Endorsements are part of an athlete's life. Time are changing and endorsements are now delivered differently. Doing it over Twitter where he can have a social media guy do it FOR him is actually much more beneficial since it won't take time away from his schedule.

I say endorse away, even though I miss the old school endorsement day:

You know that if Twitter was around when Gretzky was playing, he'd be tweeting about how Caspr is the best mattress he's ever slept on.
