Connor McDavid has literally twice as many points as Auston Matthews

McDavid is destroying Matthews this year and no one disagrees. He's the best player in the world by a huge margin right now.

Matthews was comparable to McDavid last season and arguably better. That notion seems to really upset some people!

Matthews is having a down season offensively, oh well.
I think there are few people who think that Matthews and McDavid are similar level players.
Matthews is a franchise player who is capable of near McDavid level seasons.
The main difference is McDavid can be this level consistency, thats what makes him generational.

That said, how is the rest of Matthews this year? Is he just playing well and the points aren't there? Is he focusing more on the game away from the puck?

That's not relevant.
Matthews and McDavid were head to head for the Hart last year, so people want to show how much better McDavid is this year.

Oilers went to the WCF and the Leafs had a 1st rd KO last year.
So if the Leafs go to the WCF this year and the Oilers are out by the 1st, make a thread.
