Post-Game Talk: Connor Magic!

I don’t care what Pickard’s save percentage is, anyone who can’t see the significant difference in the goals scored on Pickard compared to the shit Skinner lets in needs glasses.
Pickard is not what you call a position goaltender he is an athletic one who scrambles you hardly ever see him look like a shooter tutor that does not move on shots like Skinner

Had to in order to come back after the poor goals that were let in prior. Definitely not for the full 60, but certainly did when we came back while allowing almost nothing the other way.

I would describe most of Game 5 against the Kings and Game 1 against Vegas (the only two where I would say there were no bad goals) as near perfect 5v5 hockey.
Game 6 Pickard make some amazing saves to keep the Oilers in solid command. It’s not like he hasn’t had to do anything

You can see him at the corner of the screen skating around in warm ups toward the end of the clip too. I wonder if one of their D was a game-time decision?
That's what I was wondering as well, as usually when you are told you aren't playing you take your gear off and get dressed, but he stayed in full uni until puck drop. Interesting.

For the first time in the McDrai era, the Oil have other players in the lineup that can generate offence away from them.

Imo both Kane and Arvidsson are (miles) better away from Draisaitl, as they can just focus on creating chaos and getting the puck to the net. They don't need to worry about wasting puck possession, where getting the puck to Leon was the correct play.

It also doesn't hurt that they have Walman and Klingberg serving them up absolute dimes shift after shift.

Also when does the team start commenting on the refs? Currently dead last in penalties drawn/60, despite being 5 and 2 through 7 playoff games and carrying the play in a lot of those games.

And it's not like the refs have been putting their whistle's away. Only once have the Oil been just even in PP opportunities at the end of regulation, they're currently the only team with their net penalty/60 breaking -1.

It has been terrible, I thought it "sort of" evened out last game. After they gave Brown that atrocious penalty I thought the Oilers got away with a few down the stretch.

It's awful all around, it's a larger league problem.

Though you also aren't wrong that they need to start drawing them if they're going to control the play this much.
