I hated the Klingberg signing and thought he looked like trash in the regular season but he's been outstanding

Walman had some huge defensive plays too. That trade is looking big especially with Ekholm going down

The gamble was he had a huge rest and would be rusty. Would he be able to show that elite skill? Apparently only after 82 games.

Brown Spot Dropped on Vegas
Gritty effort with a quick 2-0 deficit but this team just looked prepared to grind it out. Connor Brown showing his playoff mentality engaged all night with skating, anticipation... and... finish. Energy game. Have to credit this blueline notably Bouchard with a superlative two-way game including second high PK toi. He's been great since given more responsibilities to help this team's penalty kill. Second is Klingberg most notably that killer stretch outlet on the Hyman goal. Guy's been so confident, composed, and a critical add to fill the second pair RD hole.

Very assertive, confident and mature game. Lots of possession and zone time. Would like a big more finish on their shooting and shooting when in high danger ice instead of passing out of it (Janmark, McDavid). Humungous series ice breaker to drop a Brown spot on Vegas.

Just a character win from a group that seems destined to give its fanbase early cardiac disease. 7 straight games where we have been losing, 5 straight wins.

I think the only defenceman that was mediocre was Emberson (key on the PK in the 3rd). Everyone else was pretty damn good. Klingberg, Walman, Nurse, Kulak and especially Bouchard were defensively sound. Bouchard was the most physically engaged I've seen him - perhaps some of that emphasised as he's picked up PK minutes?

I enjoy how Kane is on our second rotation to kill off a game. Shuts down the after whistle shenanigans, keeps him very engaged physically and defensively, and his speed proves a little issue on the boards and the point. He's been great on his return. If you show trust in a guy, they respond with trust back. Huh.

The team loves Janmark. Hope everyone else heard the whole team screaming and hollering when Janmark blocked that shot with 5 seconds left.
