Hellebuyck seems likely to finish the playoffs with the worst save percentage of any goalie who played. That seems bad?

I mean as good as he could have been at times and in games, that SV% has been doomed for two weeks lol Jets would have to make the finals with him playing great just to make it look average.

For a big man he got beat high a lot. As Jack mentioned above he doesn’t strike fear into the hearts of his opponents i don’t imagine.

That said im not sure you could say he was the reason jets lost to dallas

Final Stat Line for this year. Started playing better near the end, but still not good enough.

I saw him play for a bad Moose team in 2015-16. He was around 2.5 GAA and 92% saves. His NHL career matches those stats.

He seems worse in the playoffs. If he has a lot of those Moose players on the Jets, I am not surprised. You can only stop so many quality shots.

He had a pair of shutouts in this series, but he wasn’t exactly taxed during them. He was better than he was against the Blues, but not nearly at the level his team needed.

Another disappointing run to say the least.

Great regular season goalie...........struggles in the playoffs. His team was better than he was, but still fell short.....
His playoff performances are similar to Austin Matthews with the leafs..........not big game players......yet anyhow.

He was legitimately one of the worst goalies ive ever seen in pro hockey that first round, it'd be hard not to improve on that for round two.

Honestly I don't think he was as bad as his save% indicated in round two, but he still looked very below mid. Dallas didnt make his life all that difficult the way St Louis did, and when they did they'd usually score.

Unfortunately for the Jets they need to invest in a high quality back-up who they'd feel comfortable starting. Someone like Quick or Varlamov would've been perfect, a veteran thats not an every day starter but can still reliably win you a game. Or a Freddy Andersen who's too fragile for a whole regular season but can play competently in the playoffs. Jake Allen would be a target.

He mostly redeemed himself in the Dallas series to be honest
I agree. He played well enough for the Jets to win the series. Scoring was an issue though. They really need to scale back his regular season starts next year though. I think the workload is a factor.

Not even close to 2012 MAF

I dunno. He was solid, but I don't think he ever played at a "this guy is in the other team's shooter's heads" level that you'd expect based on his regular season performance.

Yes he was. But he’s got better against Dallas.

No he never really outright stole a game , part of that is because the Jets were never significantly outplayed in any game vs Dallas. But he did play quite well in at least half the games this series.

I think he's a good goalie but probably in need of a psychologist like MAF. Then again, it wasn't that long ago Bob was seen as a bad playoff goalie. If you look at Helle's earlier years, they don't look horrible. Maybe he just needs to get hot at the right time?

Anyone who has to play behind Luke Schenn gets a pass. I'm sorry, but Helle is not the problem, its several of the skaters in front of him.

Schenn was on the ice for 14 GA and only 3 GF in just 2 rounds.

Helleybuyck was something like -10 to -10.5 in goals saved above expected after 6 or 7 games against the blues. His final goals saved above expected was -4.7...meaning he had approx. a +5.0 - +5.5 goals saved above expected in the Dallas series. He did his fair share to try and help the Jets win in the second round.

Lack of scoring and mostly poor special teams did the Jets in. The second line needs work.
