Don't you guys think you're being a bit disingenuous.

I don't think Connor was at fault other than the one he put in the net himself. (Petrovic goal)
He seemed to be doing fine yesterday compared to his Stl series road games. S% might have looked bad, but I don't think there's any goals other than #3 that can fault him on.
Whenever you have to go with "can you blame them for any specific goal" you are reaching. Unless all are literally impossible- and not thebusual thing pisters call impossible that arent- it doesnt matter- you need to make some saves. If the bar is just to let up 0 goals that are absol u tely weak, then many minkr league goalies could reach that bad in at least over halfnthe games. If you are one of the top 32 goalies in league- you are expected tp make some ofnthose saves occasionally. The argument even gets more ridiculous when you say "only 1 goal is weak" as if goving up a weak goal per game jn addition to not making many tough stops is now somehow acceptable.

Not sure about that, if they had Quinn Hughes and if Canada wasn't so hyped up because of political reasons I can't discuss here, it probably is a tighter match up. The US has some really good players and can win any time in a one game format. I'd take Canada in a 7 game series though, their forward lineup is dumb. Winning a medal is just about being better for one game and the US is more than good enough to pull that off.

They could for sure but Canada's forwards are just nutty and we probably weren't even icing the best team we possibly could.

US's problem lies in that they put all their eggs in a basket carried by the two biggest frauds in the NHL.. Matthews and Hellebuyck.

Cut Hellebuyck, and stick Matthews as the 4C with no leadership responsibilities

I’d probably have Oettinger as the starter, who are the 2 other spots? Swayman hasn’t looked good, Demko can’t seem to get back on the ice. Daccord, stolarz, Woll.. Gibson maybe? Idk. As bad as Hellebuyck has been he still gets a spot. Shouldn’t be the starter tho

Daccord and Wolf for sure. Fwiw id take most of those others over Hellebuyck too.

Gibson if he were on a better team would absolutely deserve a look, but as long as hes on the Ducks I know advocating for him is a losing argument

Doesn't matter who you put in net, nobody is stopping an uncontested McDavid in the slot.
If the 2 superfriends weren’t so fixated on each other mcdavid doesn’t end up wide open there

Hellebuyck played excellent in the 4 Nations Cup. His problem is for the past 3 years, he can't save in a playoff road gave.

That’s why the D is supposed to play closer to the shooter when they’re on their off-wing with a cross-body one-timer on the other side.

I know that most people with a basic grasp of the game think “goalie has the shooter in a two-on-one” but that’s outdated. Handedness of the two and where they line up makes a difference. Helle had to play for the pass off the pads possibility here. Samberg ought to have been able to engage with his stick on the shot.

The guy is sewering his shot at the HOF. It really does not matter, or at least should not matter, that he has some of the strongest modern-era goaltender numbers when his postseason performance is so abjectly miserable. It would be a joke to induct a guy hypothetically sitting under .900 who never took a team to the finals.
