Hey Jets fans, if you don’t want him, feel free to send him to the Leafs! I am sure the Leafs coaching staff would love to get their hands on a hall-of-fame level goalie for the first time in decades and take a chance that they could help him find consistency in the playoffs.

As an Oiler fan I echo this sentiment. The thought of solidifying our goaltending is like a beautiful mirage

Hellebuyck obviously has talent. There have been players who had a reputation as playoff duds but these narratives can turn in a hurry.

But really, the Jets aren't moving him

It’s quite concerning the amount of goals hes letting. Granted I’ve seen struggling goalies. Canucks fans can tell you this. But when Bobby Lu got lit up , he at least got lit up against a cup winning level team. Last year it was the high powered avalanche still kinda concerning, I’m not saying it’s ok to ever get lit up this bad, but now dawg is getting lit up by the blues. He’s gonna sing the blues.🎶 🎵

It matters because you can spend that money elsewhere on your roster. If you're going to get below par goaltending it's better to spend 2.6 million on it rather than 8.5 million, Skinner has been to a Cup Final, the Jets not so much.
But Heleybuck is a vezina winner. He makes the team much better than skinner. There is value in that, eapecially since its an important position

What credit lol? He still sucked, the goals he let in weren't great, he got outplayed again by a guy like Binnington, and his team bailed him out again being 2-0 with him on the bench and 2-3 with him playing

The biggest game of Hellebuycks career and he lets in 2 goals on his first 4 shots. It wasn't looking good.

Honestly I think this type of game may be more important for Hellebuyck than if he got a shutout. Things were rocky for him and he was able to settle down. It reminds me of when a top pitcher in baseball gets roughed up early but then has a dominant performance. Goalie and pitcher are two mentally taxing positions and it says a lot when one can shake off a bad opening and keep your team in the game

The reports of Hellebuyck's demise have been greatly exaggerated.

He was back to looking like his normal self from the third period on tonight, which is a big relief to Jets fans as he certainly will play better going forward than he did for the majority of this series.

Finishes the series with a 3.85 GAA and an .830 Sv%.

I am rooting for the Jets from here on out, but boy is it going to be tough to go far with goaltending like that. Going into the series, I figured the Jets would cruise past us in 6. If Hellebuyck plays just average, like .900, this is probably over in 6 if not sooner. The fact that this took game 7 double overtime (with them being just a second away from losing altogether) is worrying if I'm a Jets fan, especially considering that they must now face the Stars, who are a true contender unlike the Blues.

He's lucky that Jets managed to come back from a two-goal deficit in the last two minutes, because had they failed to do so, his save% for game 7 would have been 85.0%.
