Celebrini is just thew new flashy toy, he's not better than Bedard or Michkov for that point just wait and see, I just think his game will take less time to translate to the NHL but no he's not better than Bedard

Celebrini looks like a more of a Barkov/Hischier guy who plays all situations very well with good production

Bedard is maybe like a Patrick Kane, who will have a lot of goals and be at the top point producers for years to come but probably not the guy you want on the PK.

Both a good and at this point its who you put around these two players that factors in the most.

Barkov without Reinhart isn't as that great
Kane without Toews isn't as great
Ovechkin without Backstrom isn't as great.

Kane and Toews rarely played on a line together. Kane was pretty great without help from Toews.

Reminds me a bit of Eichel vs Matthews in terms of prospects. Eichel/Bedard is flashier and had more hype while the more all-around game and subtle things that lead to being an analytics monster from Matthews/Celebrini is harder to appreciate at first.
Eichel wasn't flashier and definitely didn't have more hype

Connor Busthard?

Macklin looks like Malkin
In exactly zero ways does Macklin look like Malkin

Celebrini just seems more well rounded to me
Because he is.... but also because you've been told he's a 2 way monster (he isn't). He's responsible defensively, nothing more.

Celebrini for me but I could see it going either way. I haven’t seen Bedard take over games the way I’ve already seen Celebrini do it.
I haven't missed one Celebrini or Bedard game yet and this comment is kinda hilarious. Celebrini hasn't "taken over" a game yet in his career while Bedard has many.

Bedard needs a few more months to get going? He can't just ramp up and go right now? Season might be nearing its close in a few more months.

In a few months when he’s pulled away so far it’s a joke like everyone with a brain and watches hockey knows he will. 0% his low ass shooting percentage is sustainable, he’ll get going on a level Celebrini is incapable of

Said this in another thread but stylistically the more I watch Celebrini he actually reminds me of Crosby. But maybe with less offense and more defense. But his ability to win puck battles, his hockey iq, ability to drive offense and make his teammates better, and just this intangible drive and determination he has all over the ice.

Bedard’s main weapon is his shot. He’s not a physical force, he doesn’t have great skating nor elite defending game, and so far this year his shot has been underwhelming

Celebrini clearly demonstrates a more well rounded game

Recency bias goes hard as usual around here, I’m still taking Bedard long term because he has a high offensive upside. Different players take different amounts of time to develop so this is one we won’t have a good grasp on for another 4 years probably.

Even then its mostly a specific type of shot. He doesn’t do that much with slappers, one timers, backhanders, tipping the puck etc. However, give him time to wire a wrister and he is great at it.

I’m pretty sure they are both going to be elite. Hard to say really. Both look really good.

Holy whiplash, what exactly do you think 2-way means then?

I actually wonder if part of why the Michkov fans hate Celebrini so much in these threads is related to the trauma of Ovechkin ultimately losing the Crosby-rivalry. Obviously Celebrini is no Crosby talent-wise, but being his stylistic heir might be unconsciously triggering some of the folks on here.

Bedard leads his team in scoring and he has no help. He has 4 more points than the next player on his team and only two other players have more than 10 points.

Celebrini missed some games so he’s 6th on his team in total scoring, but even by ppg he’s not leading the team . There’s 7 other players on the Sharks with more than 10 points.

Bedard is the more talented of the two and more likely be a star, although Celebrini is very much making his own case as well.

Bedard is fantastic when he has the puck with an absolutely ridiculous shot, he is lacking a bit in size and speed which impacts how effective he can be if his teammates cant help him utilize those assets more. Celebrini I haven't watched enough yet but he does seem bigger and faster which helps his overall game, too early to say who is better for me.

12 games out of 27. It's a bit more than "some" so it's understandable why he isn't leading the Sharks at this point. Still, in points-per-game, he's at .93 and trailing only Granlund at 1.12.

It is way to early to tell who will be better at the end of the day, obviously I contain bias towards celebrini but watching them both extensively in their draft year celebrini was definitely under looked in his draft year as just how good he actually was. You cant go wrong with either player both are absolute studs and I think both teams are happy with their guy.
