I doubt anyone in the NHL knows or gives a crap about this let alone uses it as chirp fuel.
"Buddy, you suck at hockey" is simple yet effective.

Ryan Donato just got his 31st goal of the year.In his second season McDavid turned Pat Maroon into a 27 goal scorer which I think is one of the more impressive feats of his career
Yeah .. because he had a Top 5 player in the NHL with him for years.I think so. Look at Crosby's first year. Second year they made playoffs onwards until these past couple years.
I will say though Bedard coming into the NHL undersized (not his fault he will gain and become adult we see it in the 2 years already)
Plays the most on his team, and the team just flat out sucks.
This is going to give a player a big -
You’re right. They are betterThe guys on the other side ain't Junior-level. That's all.
Demidov gonna get him to -100 tonight.
Crosby had 102 points his rookie year without Malkin....Yeah .. because he had a Top 5 player in the NHL with him for years.
Not going to lie, he didn’t impress me tonight, I did not see the superstar factor in his play
No one player can carry a team in hockey, except a goalie for stretches, if they are bad enough. Can McDavid really carry a team? Or even Sidney for that matter?
Both of them had one of the best players in the league by their side.
It was kind Shaq and Kobe for both players.
Bedard has nothing close to that on his team.
Dupuis best season came playing with Jordan Staal to be fair, he was a damn good player.Nothing can top Crosby making people think that Colby Armstrong and Pascal Dupuis were legit nhl players
He's been running on empty since the 4 Nations break. His stamina needs a lot of work over the next few summers. Not going to lie, he didn’t impress me tonight, I did not see the superstar factor in his play
But he'd probably also have less points if he actually played any kind of defense. He has been far from impressive, even taking into account the team he plays on.Yeah, if he played any kind of defense, he’d only be about 20 more in the positive direction…Hawks have sucked that bad.
Rarely watch him but yeah against the Habs he looked like he wanted to get rid of the puck ASAP every time he touched itHe showed very little confidence with the puck in this game.
If you're going to draft a guy at #1OA and try and make him carry your offense, then hope he's primarily known as a star puck carrier and elite skater. Then he can at least get the puck into scoring areas and maybe you find someone for him to feed the puck to. With Bedard it's like the Hawks are just handing him the puck and expecting him to carry it into the danger areas, but it's too much to ask. He doesn't have the range or strength or skating for that.
Why do coaches allow some players to be this irresponsible defensively? NHL coaches allow know how defence is played the right way. And guys get their ice time reduced if they’re not playing the right way. Yet, Bedard continues to get cherry ice time. What’s he learning from that coach? But he'd probably also have less points if he actually played any kind of defense. He has been far from impressive, even taking into account the team he plays on.

I guess there are a lot of fans who put player scoring numbers and personal awards ahead of their team winning. Seems strange to me. Because players want their coaches to be fair. And treating a guy “special” wouldn’t be good for the club winning.Because having a good relationship with the star player ensures more job security. You see it with other teams as well, these coaches are smart enough to know who their meal tickets are.
Look how the hard love approach worked for Torts with Miknov.
