Connor Bedard is -84 throughout two seasons…Worst in the NHL

I hope Chicago management reads these criticisms of Bedard and trades him to my team for 2 1st round picks.

There is a ton of blame to go around....

* The Blackhawks are a horrible organization and they had no plan for Bedard once they realized he was NOT Sid or McDavid and he could not carry a team.
* The Blackhawks have screwed up a ton of prospects.
* Connor needs to up his game. He needs to swallow his pride and move to the wing - even if it is only until he improves.
Can McDavid really carry a team? Or even Sidney for that matter?

Both of them had one of the best players in the league by their side.

It was kind Shaq and Kobe for both players.

Bedard has nothing close to that on his team.

Because they're younger than the defense core of Wester Michigan University.
Give them time.

Levshunov has only played 50 games in the AHL and 15 in the NHL.
Rinzel has played 0 games in the AHL and 6 in the NHL.
etc.

They have the potential to be a great D-core. Nobody is saying they're there yet.

That seems like an absolutely horrific way to develop defense.

Will he be as good as jack hughes?

Hard to say. Hughes is a dynamic skater, which could be a huge trump card. Bedard has great lateral mobility, but his absolute mid top speed is going to be a huge encumbrance to his success. It wouldn't be as big a deal if he was 6'2 (or hell, maybe even 6'), but you can count on one hand the number of small offensive players that are as slow as he is that have dominated the NHL and won any kind of personal awards.

Neither does Celebrini but he's better than him and already a way better complete player. Bedard coasts on the ice and sucks on defense. Badly. Always caught out of position and looks lost in his own zone. he has a very long way to go.

After another viewing of Celebrini last night, based on what I've seen of both guys, I'd absolutely prefer Celebrini to Bedard. Maybe Celbrini's ceiling is lower, but I feel like his floor is way higher.

Posted this on the Hawks board but reposting here.

It’s not a huge shock that Bedard is fifth in the league in primary assists at five-on-five. He teed up Ryan Donato’s equalizer in the third period for his 21st primary assist at five-on-five, tying him with the Edmonton Oilers’ Connor McDavid. Bedard has proved to be an even better playmaker than scorer, with nearly twice as many assists (80) as goals (43) in his first two seasons. But what’s interesting is how few secondary assists Bedard has. His 21-to-3 ratio of primaries to secondaries is by far the widest in the NHL, with Winnipeg’s Mark Scheifele (20-to-7) and Los Angeles’ Phil Danault (19-to-7) the only ones within spitting distance.

Bedard asking to be traded would be some fantastic karma but yeah, no one feels bad about this happening to the Hawks.

The only thing better would be to see him get traded for a player that ends up being a bust and Bedard goes and explodes into the legit star he was scouted to be for the new team.

He's jacked af which gives me more reason to believe in him because he has the physical tools to be a superstar

That older guy with a moustache on the inside of his right knee doesn't exactly look ripped, and you have to think carrying around a freeloader like that all the time probably has a negative effect on his overall fitness and balance.

He’s a liability Defensively. The thing is Mack, drasaitl, malkin they are all big centers with exceptional physical attributes. Only Crosby is kinda undersized like Bedard but has legs like tree trunks with exceptional skating. Bedard doesn’t have legs like tree trunks and have generational skating…
I didn't think he was that bad defensively. Yeah he's undersized, doesn't have lightning speed or the height. But when you look at the top guys in the NHL, only a handful have ideal physical attributes. Many of the top guys don't, and they are still among the best. Difference is how the coach uses them and the team's record.

He's probably the worst defensive "center" in the league...

In his second season McDavid turned Pat Maroon into a 27 goal scorer which I think is one of the more impressive feats of his career

Never actually understood how a three-time SC champion team in a post-cap era could end up having no veteran presence at all?

Why did they sell Kane? Wasn’t he ready to share his experience and mentor the kid?

Jumbo Joe teaches Celebrini life and hockey. In San Jose that hasn’t had a Cup at all. And he succeeds, eventually.

Not every star is capable to carry the team on the shoulders and create a winning culture without help. It’s rare. Most players need mentoring.

Seems like a poor management indeed.

Kane asked to be traded.

I think so. Look at Crosby's first year. Second year they made playoffs onwards until these past couple years.

I will say though Bedard coming into the NHL undersized (not his fault he will gain and become adult we see it in the 2 years already)
Plays the most on his team, and the team just flat out sucks.

This is going to give a player a big -

I don't get it. I read eveywhere that the Hawks have a phenomenal young core of amazing defensemen; that Vlasic/Del Mastro/ Kaiser/ Allan/ Levshunov are so good. Why do they keep losing all their games and bleeding GA then?
Bedard 19
Nazar 21
Moore 20
Slaggert 22
Dach 22
Reichel 22
Greene 21

Korchinski is 20
Levshunov is 19
Rinzel is 20
Vlasic is 23
Del Mastro is 22
Allan is 21
Kaiser is 22

Spencer Knight 23
