100% but the Devils were Infinitly better than the 2021 Habs AINEC
Sure but looking at the 01 Avs most people would say that they had the better roster overall in those playoffs right?

Also looking at both teams regular seasons the superteam was the Avs compared to TB and it's not even really close go back and take a look.

If one did a poll and asked which team was better in that single season it's the Avs and it would be shut down in a New York minute.

Roy, but it's close. Remarkable, considering he was 36 compared to Vasi's run at 26.
Yeah Roy was one of those guys that basically never aged. After the age of 35, Roy had 3 top 5 vezina finishes, a 3rd place hart finish, a 1st team AST and Conn Smythe.

What I find crazy in retrospect is that Roy tied for that Vezina in 2002 in votes. It never seems to get mentioned because of the tie for the Hart that Theodore won.

Theodore walked away with both the Hart and Vezina, when even a single different vote in either result sends him out empty handed, and Iginla and Roy another trophy richer.

I didn't realize they had the same number of vezina votes, that's actually pretty strange. I wonder what the tiebreaker was. Either way, Theodore had a great season that year, in his own right so I wasn't mad at the results, but it definitely could've gone either way

Like the Hart, the tiebreaker was first place votes. Like the Hart, Theodore won because he had three more first place votes. Interestedly, Roy had more combined top 2 votes than Theodore for the Vezina.

The whole “he had a super team” in these threads is a cheap way to vote. Playing on a “super team” and if you’re the best player, you’re probably pretty f***ing good….

I feel vasilevsky was more of the product of his defence tbh. It was already reported lightning coaches had to protect vasi’s weak blocker side.

I honestly don't even know who you're refering to. They're both super teams in this thread.
