Honestly doubt it unless he goes off in the finals, assuming they get there. He hasn't scored many points and voters will flock to Andersen for his performance and lack of competition amongst his own teammates.

He lead the Blackhawks in points so it wasn't odd, as a Blackhawks fan I had no issue with Toews winning in 2010 and it could've easily gone to Kane that year.

Crawford didn't have to carry the Blackhawks but he still finished with a 1.84GAA and .923SV%. Similar numbers to Tim Thomas & Vasilievskiy the years they won the Smythe FWIW.
Vasi didnt deserve his either. But he at least put up those numbers in a higher scoring era. 2013 was the dead puck 2

If Vegas wins it is likely Marner, unless he completely no-shows in the Final and has like 1 or 0 points.

It's a small group of writers that vote on the award. The narrative weight behind Marner is crazy, and they all probably have their columns pre-written on him.
Drooling at the thought of the clicks. Steve Simmons has his hit piece ready for similar reasons. He already bragged that his article on Chayka being a scam artist got the most reads of all time for the Sun or something like that.

One can say that TB had more than one player with a CS type of playoffs but not that Vasi didn't deserve it because he did.

Slavin.
Plays a very quiet game that goes unnoticed and may not put up the points but puts on a clinical defensive masterclass.
Prolly the most important player when it came to shutting down the sens/flyers/habs

Hart could get four shutouts in the finals and I'd still be gobsmacked if the writers decided to hand him a Conn Smythe trophy.

The man is still radioactive lol
Yes, and plus I don't think he deserves it on merit alone. He's been adequate to good but he's not carrying the team.

I don't know if many people actually realize K'Andre Miller is the one doing the hard matchups and usage. Possibly the most underrated D in the league right now.

It would be kind of ironic if either Hall or Marner end up winning the Conn Smythe given both at various points in their careers were seen as perennial playoff chokers you can't win with.

Slavin outside of game 1 vs the Habs where he completely uncharacteristically melted down has been great, but honestly Miller has been even better these playoffs. If the voters go for a Cane without “numbers” it’d have to be Miller over Slavin. But the voters don’t really go that way so it would probably be Freddie or one of the 2nd liners (Hall, Stank, Blake) if the Canes beat Vegas. But either way Slavin is definitely still very underrated despite dominating international play the last year

I thought I was the only one who was crazy realizing K'Andre Miller has actually been the Hurricanes best player this postseason.

Being great the first three rounds is why he won, I appreciate it being the Playoffs MVP vs the finals MVP like in the NBA. Guys get rewarded for their entire body of work that spring, not just one or two weeks.

Sure, but if we are going for the entire body of work well, Kane was great for it 100% while Toews only 75%

Though the award is voted on before the final game is even finished so it didn't even account for Kane's OT goal

Whats interesting to me is how pedestrian Aho has been this post season... only 7 points in 13 games.
He normally a very consistent playoff points producer which hasn’t been the case this year. Having said this. Him, Svech, and Jarvis are waking up at the right time. All of Carolina’s lines are clicking right now

Yea they looked a lot better last night, no time like the present.

It lines up. Maybe Dorofyev has a shot at it as well if guys like Jarvis and Ehlers are there.

I’d have Marner, Eichel, Hall and Stankoven leading at this point.

The other guys have a chance if they really step up during the final but right now based on the first 3 rounds I’d have Hall and Marner.

Hart deserves it more than Andersen at this stage. Andersen is doing what he has to do. He’s playing great hockey but the Canes are doing such a great job as a 5 man unit that Freddie doesn’t need to be standing on his head. And that’s a great thing for Carolina. Hart needed to do a lot more to get Vegas to this point.

As a Leafs fan I hope Marner wins it and the cup. He was run out of Toronto by horrible mismanagent and a sizeable amount of the fanbase.
I still can't belive we lost him for what we got back.
In the NHL, that seems to be the way Canadian based teams are run.
