Jerod Mayo (wife) takes to Instagram to come back at team

It's just sad how big a joke this organization has become

Pats history drafting WR scares me. Give me Nabers for 4th overall
Or Zay Flowers.

Abdul Carter is a one man wrecking crew. I went from I want him at 4 to will he even be there at 4?
I love Abdul Carter as well, would not hesitate one second to take him at 4.
The edge rusher UFA list is not deep this year.
We can pickup an OLineman in round 2, have many needs to fill.

NFL Rumors: How Ben Johnson Could Become Favorite For Patriots Job

“New England met with apparent front-runner Mike Vrabel on Thursday and reportedly has a virtual interview scheduled with Lions offensive coordinator Ben Johnson for Friday morning.”

I think one of the big things going against Johnson is he'd basically have to accept the job by Monday. If they know Vrabel would accept the job if offered, they're not going to want to risk the possibility of losing out on both of them, and Vrabel likely will have signed somewhere else by the time they could get a second interview with Johnson. We know Johnson already pulled out of the Washington interview process late last year, so who's to say he wouldn't pull a McDaniels and renege even if he did originally agree.

FWIW, the Patriots are NOT the only team to interview two minority candidates with little-to-no shot of being hired. The Bears interviewed their interim Head Coach, Thomas Brown, and former Stanford coach David Shaw to also become Rooney Rule compliant.

I think perhaps the Patriots felt the need to become Rooney Rule compliant very quickly in case another team (Jets? Bears?) were to offer Vrabel a job before New England was done with their process.

Internal candidates don't count towards the Rooney rule, so Thomas Brown doesn't qualify.

Yay or nay?

Not surprising. All the Krafts have done since Brady has left is bring in/promote people they know. They are afraid of going outside the box.

Promoted Wolf/Mayo

Gave Patricia a new title as OC

Brought back Bill O’Brien

Now they are potentially bringing in Vrabel and Mcdaniels again.

It’s turning into the Patriots Fraternity of retreads

"This time... it's kind of different."

Barring injury, Carter has HOF written all over him.

I was very huge on the Kelvin Banks train for a minute, but I have been very unimpressed with him in this playoff. If the Patriots are going to go with BPA, Carter just might be their man.

Johnson to the Raiders rumors are fascinating. Could be leverage for another job, or could be he's not worried about the lack of QB and difficult division. Wonder if he just thinks after rehabilitating Goff that he can do that with anybody.

I would be surprised if we don't know by end of the day Monday. Either a Vrabel announcement or a Schefter tweet that insinuates Johnson has accepted the job without officially accepting it. They can't really wait to give Johnson a second interview in-person because Vrabel will likely have been hired somewhere by then, so they have to make the decision now.

Probably 90/10 it's Vrabel vs. Johnson.

NFL Network calls Vrabel an "overwhelming favorite" for the Patriots' job. Ian Rappaport said he hasn't talked to anyone who doesn't think it'll be Vrabel. Tom Pelissero reported that the Patriots have already had discussions with Vrabel's agent.
