North Americans, please - there are other threads (not to mention other forums) for bashing each other. 4 nations are done and was a great tournament with great hockey - I think we can all agree on that. And whether you personally like fighting or not, no one can deny that the fights last weekend got people talking for once about hockey, and upped the intensity and physicality of the tournament. Was it stupid? Probably. But we're people spending our time and energy arguing with strangers on the internet about a game, so it's not as if we have the high ground here...
I'm a panthers fan so obviously love our Chucky, but even I can see that he sometimes pushes the boundaries when he probably shouldn't - that's the price for showing some personality in this game. Even if you hate him and his brother - you can't deny that they're entertaining. And isn't that why we watch this sport in the end? Should he have played last Thursday? Probably not. But he played with a f***ing broken sternum a couple of years ago, so is anyone surprised that he tried? The decision to play him is firmly on the coaches and medical staff, not him.
As for it's impact on our team, we'll see. Best case scenario is that he comes back quickly. If not, next best scenario is that he's back for the playoff and Zito pulls a Vegas and gets us our desperately needed RH defenseman. Worse case scenario - we probably make the playoffs but flame out early before we then retool for next year. We'll be fine.
