Commercials that annoy you in the 2024-25 season

Not like I am a fast food expert or anything, but whenever I see a commercial from the big brands, they at least paid their food makeup artist to make the food look somewhat tasty.

Then DQ has commercials where they're aggressively trying to tell me that their plastic fake looking props are somehow delicious meals. This year they have fake plastic burgers. Last year they ran an ad campaign for their fake plastic chicken strips.

I know all fast food is bad... but come on, DQ isn't even trying. The sad thing is if they actually think their product looks good in those commercials.

Oh and 2 or 3 years ago there was a godawful Taco Bell commercial that was just constant closeups of people's mouths as they slammed that grade D beef down their throats. Gross on a completely different level.

Winnipeg has an infuriating commercial for about recycling, with a bunch of children mocking you for 30 seconds.

The commercial actively makes me want to throw my recycling in the trash, I've come close a few times now because of it

Everyone makes fun of us old people that still have cable but I rarely have to sit through a studid commercial. Do most people not have things in place to avoid advertising? Are young people just rawdogging through the media they absorb?

kek! you pay for cable

The French sports network RDS has about three sponsors; yes, even for Habs hockey games; and they repeat the same commercials over and over; every break. Over and over. Over and over. Over and over. Over and over...

All of them, as a non American it makes no sense
I agree with the general sentiment, but as a German I'm surprised how much better than ours those North American commercials tend. Doesn't make me want to watch them, mind you, butthe overall quality is certainly higher than over here. Plus it was kinda interesting at first to gain insights in the cultural and legal differences regarding ads between NA and over here. Things like what kinds of products are featured, which disclaimers seem to be needed etc.
I don't think we have commercials for law firms, hospitals or prescription drugs, presumably for legal reasons. Like North Americans, we have tons of commercials for beer, telecom providers and cars, although the types of cars that get promoted are quite different.

Most American commercials are LCD (lowest common denominator) shit. Gotta make sure the mouth breathers follow along while the rest of us suffer.

That stupid Outback Steakhouse "Steak-cation" ad. Not only is it a dumb play on words but it has an annoying teenage girl screaming about steak in a temper tantrum. So grating to hear every commerical break.

Watching Monumental Sports (the Caps' RSN) through cable you get the normal suite of ads. If you stream it through their website though, you exclusively get either a local ambulance-chaser, Tullamore Dew whisky, or the car ad with the woman on a bad first date. Have grown to hate all three with a passion

If this commercial is airing anywhere other than Northern Alberta or Southern Ontario I can see it being candidate of the year - though I think it's a nod to the Gretzky Sundin commercial from 30 years ago

Like why would a Canucks' or Flames' fan be compelled to eat a Big Mac as a result of this commercial?

tim hortons spicy rose chicken flatbread pizza. none of those things are a pizza.

PIZZA?!?!?!

A lot of athletes will eat fast food relatively often. It's not that big of a deal really.

The universally correct answer to the thread is any gambling ad.
Tyreek Hill, one of the best WR in the NFL eats a big mac before every game. Anderson Silva, one of the all time MMA greats used to eat a big mac before every fight too lmao. It works for them I guess.

The gambling ads didn't bother me as much up until this past week, my younger cousins, 18-17 years old both started asking me about it and how they want to bet on sports and make money, started asking me what's the "Hockey lock of the day" pissed me right off. Then they were telling me how their unemployed friends in college all bet on sports and make money.

These kids don't know shit about a life but they can't watch sports without gambling being thrown in their face, it's getting out of hand.
