and they say they are fully funding it themselves.
We’re not really believing this, right?
I have listened to the thing. I don’t believe there is a plan beyond the arena. There is an idea of a plan. Someone has thought, “Plans are good. We should do that.”
I wouldn't be shocked if the Washington, DC stadium is what changed the situation here. It's going to cost Harris more money to build that new stadium in DC than if he had gone to Virginia and gotten local and state money because DC's budget goes through congressional approval. They managed to get approval to build on the RFK stadium site, but they're not going to get any kind of approval for hundreds of millions IMO.Harris's group is currently getting a new stadium for the Commanders on the old RFK site. Seems pretty locked in now.
I wonder if contracting it out all happens as some joint deal for a discount?

They brought up The Battery in Atlanta a few times...kind of vibes with the shit Hilferty leaked to the press last year with the Xfinity live redesign, upscale restraunts and high end apartments, parking garages etc...Probably why Middleton was there as they have that hashed out with comcast already
Xfinity Live! upgrade: Renderings provide glimpse of $15M expansion coming to South Philly
Patrons can expect big changes, including a rooftop bar, food truck area, new state-of-the-art equipment, among other additions across the entertainment venue's property.6abc.com
I'm assuming they'd probably do something similar but axe the hotel or the smaller concert venue to build the new arena.
She ain’t happy about anything, and she shouldn’t be, and i’m glad she isn’t.Mayor not mentioning the flyers at all. skipped over hilf entirely....lol
I’m not sure why you are so confident Harris is getting a DC stadium. That’s a really long complicated process, and the deal involved MD taking over the DC National Guard but the military is furious…this could unravel.Harris's group is currently getting a new stadium for the Commanders on the old RFK site. EVEN if not, this just allows DC to redevelop, an arena plan itself is years away.
Why wouldn’t Harris just use DC like he used Chinatown to get a better deal in MD or VA?
Im hoping they build it in basically the same area, then when they tear down WFC they put more parking in that spot. So you lose parking in the short term but it comes back afterwardsso i am assuming they are gonna build on one of the parking lots? or are they going to go down past the linc to build this
The cost and hassles to get this down in DC and opposition will make Philly Chinatown seem a cakewalk. The mayor may want, the corrupt incompetent mayor, the residents do not.DC was given control of the land, and it was no coincidence that Harris was at the WH for the bill being signed into law. They don't want to stay at the Landover site. With DC in control and VA not being a serious option for a football stadium, why would they build anywhere else? The city wants it and the team wants it.
"The military" isn't furious. Only a small group of veterans who made a wild and insane claim that DC is going to be vulnerable to attack because a fighter unit stationed physically in MD will be transferred to MD. Nothing has functionally changed there except for who gets to claim the prestige of having an F-16 squadron.
Are you confusing Harris with Leonsis when it comes to Chinatown?

Seems pretty incompetent to me.Do you have Bowser confused with Vince Gray? "Incompetent" isn't a word I'd apply to Bowser.
The residents want it extremely badly. They want it a ton. There's massive support in favor. You do not seem to know what you're talking about. It's something like 75% support.
I moved away from DC in 2009 so it’s been a while but even back then everybody wanted a new stadium in DC. The fans hate FedEx, or whatever it’s called now.Do you have Bowser confused with Vince Gray? "Incompetent" isn't a word I'd apply to Bowser.
