Drouin is a puck hog. I'm
Interested to see how that translates to the NHL level. Honestly there are lots of prospects I would take over him. Obviously he has sky high potential. But if you try to do everything yoursefl( aka WJC) then you will really struggle at the pro level.

I still can't believe TB passed on Jones. But owell.

Bumping this thread not to make people look stupid but to get new opinions now that it's been another year

1- MacKinnon
2- Ekblad
3- Monahan
4- Jones
5- Barkov
6- Drouin
7- Reinhart
8- Lindholm
9- Bennett
10- Nichushkin
11- Ristolainen
12- Draisaitl
13- Nurse
14- Dal Colle
15- Ehlers

May have missed a guy or two and also some guys could easily be ranked up or down by 1 or 2 spots. Opinions?

Who would rank higher between Elias Lindholm and Ehlers? Ehlers has been a steady riser and Lindholm hasn't really broken out yet. Both were considered top 10 talents in their respective draft years.

Lindholm seems high and Horvat should be Top 15. Other than that I think its pretty good.

That's where Lindholm should be. He could even be ahead of Reinhart.

He is so underrated. Carolina was abysmal offensively. Lindholm nearly scored 20g/40pts in his second season in NA. Second in points among forwards on his team.

So what's the consensus ten years out? Draisaitl obviously moved up massively in the average rankings.

Interesting how many fighting it out for the Cup right now. Barkov, Ekblad, Bennett, Reinhart, Draisaitl, Nurse (Forsling, Verhaeghe, Foegele also but not really mentioned in this thread).

Am I missing something Drouin has accomplished because he is too high.

Edit : I didn't realize 95% of these posts are from almost a decade ago. Now it makes sense.

Top 20 off the top of my head not including goalies like Demko. I'm sure I forgot about players.

My list will have a Canadian bias because, well, I have a Canadian bias.

Mac
Barkov
Drai
Pastrnak
Point
Larkin
Nylander
Reinhart
Horvat
Morrisey
Guentzel
Lindholm
Monahan
Ekblad
Jones
Verhaeghe
Pulock
Forsling
Nurse
Toews
Bennett

How did Team Canada not win the WJR's (during the strike) with those players? WOW!
