Foligno! Depending on the return I could see that. Waiting for major's rebuttal.

I'm sure they've been tracking potential returns for Foligno for a while, along with every other veteran forward. You can't have this many contracts and this cap situation without coming to that. The return would have to be pretty good to satisfy me, of course. I'm not interested in a downgrade in grit, leadership, possession, assists, etc... temporary or otherwise.

Im not saying in for our against it, but trading Foligno opens the door for Jenner to take the C.

How embarrassing would it be to trade the guy a year after naming him C? I'm not saying its impossible he's traded but I severely doubt it.

Bingo.
Shows how out of touch ownership and management are to this organization.

Now remember, this is a rumor, and I would have to believe there are some credibility issues with this site if HF is blocking linking to it.

However, I would have to believe that after last season, the CBJ are going to listen to offers for a whole lot of people, just like the Rangers. That doesn't mean that they are actually shopping all of them, just that they are going to entertain offers, or maybe throw a few flyers out there themselves looking for an over-payment.

lol what

Guys, when a rumor website is subject to the profanity filter like that, that means it's crap. That's a HFBoards policy, and one I was obliged to enforce when I was moderating T&R. I wouldn't pay it any mind whatsoever.

What
Is that management and ownership selected a captain after not having one for a few seasons. No player vote - it was decided who was the captain.
The "selected" captain fell on his face. Offensive production fell dramtatically, team stunk, and he alternated between 3rd and 4th lines the 2nd half of the season.

I don't care about the rumors. I was referring to how he was selected to be captain and now the same folks who selected him could be willing to move him.

Or, in other words, "That rumor told me exactly what I expected and wanted to hear, and even tho it's crap I intend to use it as an icebreaker for pushing an old agenda regardless."

You're overrating what a captain does / means to the team. Stinger could be made the de facto captain. It wouldn't have an effect on team performance. These are professionals. They know what they need to do to win. The captainship is mostly a formality / thing for the fans.

Maybe Foligno felt pressure. But he fell flat because his production took a nosedive while his new contract kicked in.

Not surprised to hear about Foligno. With Bjorkstrand and the possibility of Puljujarvi.

Hope Jenner would be named captain

Sorry? All I saw was a quote from a person speculating teams could be interested. I didn't bother with the link, but I haven't seen anything about the CBJ shopping him.

Having said that, I wouldn't be surprised to see them to actively look. Been saying it since probably around Christmas.

Foligno is going to need a monster year to get any interest in trading for him with his contract. He's paid as a 70 point producer, lets just hope this past season was some lingering symptoms from the concussion, otherwise he's here for a while

To be fair, he's paid more in the 55-60 point range. I'd be content if he could just up 50-55 pts/season over the remainder of his deal. There are some analytics/stats that show he's due for some sort of bounce back year - hopefully he's close to 60 points.

If Foligno can get 20 goals, other forwards maintain production, Murray-Jones play a bit better, and Bob is fully healthy, I think this is a playoff team again.

The odds of all those happening, though, are miniscule.

Man, CBJ boards are getting so depressing. I feel like im the only one going into next season with any optimism. I just can't wait until the draft is over and we start camp. I really wanna see Jenner lined up at C this year.

Hey! I'm optimistic. Check my avatar...

It's too early to get too negative, gotta save some fire for the 3rd week of the season.

The big issues last season were goals allowed and an abysmal PK. Assuming that collectively they can score at the rate they did last season, and then clean up the GA, and poor PK, I would think we would at least be competing for a play-off spot.

Even w/o a 1C, this organization has some very good offensive talent. The goaltending and D are the priority. Unlike some people here, I am not convinced that Wennberg cannot grow into a 1C, so for me obtaining a 1C can wait until the other issues are addressed. If we fall into one earlier, fine, but I just don't see that as what needs to be addressed at this time.
