Hey just a hypothetical, if Jackets changed their names to Ohio Blue Jackets for whatever reason would you be alright with it?

If it was every proposed, it would be the worst damn idea ever.

If they moved to Cleveland would you still root for the team?

I'll worry about that in 30 years or so, but it's almost impossible that it would ever happen. But to answer your question, if it did... No. No words can describe how much I dislike the Cleveland area. I was up there for work a lot and I hated every minute of it. There are a couple of redeeming areas up there, but not many.

As other(s) have mentioned, Columbus will be a larger market than Cleveland in the future. Sooner rather than later.

Columbus has a larger population than Cincy and Cleveland combined per tweets last week...so no way they move to Cleveland

Our Metro area grew, but we were still number 3 from what I saw a couple of months ago. Combined? No way. Overtook Cleveland? I guess that depends on how they did the numbers.

Columbus population now exceeds that of Cleveland and Cincinnati combined ... by more than 100,000

http://www.dispatch.com/content/stories/local/2013/05/27/cowtown-city-home-to-800000.html

just going by what this says

Sam covered it, although "well behind" is perception and not all that accurate. Columbus just gained more area for Metro and were already closing in to around 100,000-300,000 before that (depending on the numbers used). We also have a growing population, theirs is decreasing. Within 10 years we will probably far outpace them.

Metro numbers are the ones you want to look at.

I was wondering if one of you fine gentleman could do me a favor. I have a man cave that is heavy on Bluejackets memoribilia, thus I have a feeling this draft is gonna be a biggie for us, so I was wondering if one of you could procur a newspaper(Dispatch) on Monday(day after the draft) for me. I'd obviously be more than happy to pay for it as well as the price to ship. Thanks in advance

Looking to sell half of my season tickets for this upcoming season. Work, school, and other obstacles are going to limit how many games I can go to this season, so I figured I would make it a bit easier on myself and try to sell half of the season.

It would be 20 or 21 games, I think each ticket works out to be roughly $60 (would have to double check on that though). The 2 seats are in section 109, row D. Pretty much directly behind the attack twice goal. Love these seats, but I am just not going to be able to go to all of the games this year.

PM me if you are interested.

So I'm going to be in Columbus next weekend for a Festival of Cannons, or something like that, and was just curious what in town was age appropriate for an 18 month old.

I know the obvious answer is the Zoo, but we're members in Cleveland, and go regularly, but my son would rather jump in the puddles than look at the animals.

Does COSI have anything for someone that young, are there any specific children's museums? Anything else fun for a little guy?

Of course with as much as he likes walking past my editing machine saying "Hoc-kee" I may just take him to the Ice Haus and watch some CAHL.

I can not recommend any activity that is fun with a 18 month old..... I'm sorry

(This post brought to you by someone hoping not to have a 18 month old in 26-27 months even though it seems likely).

Seriously though. Cosi has something for everyone. If buckeye fan. Can't beat walking the bundle of joy around the horse shoe, buckeye grove, etc

I'll direct you to these sights for local happenings.

COSI started being popular with my youngest nephew around that age, so that could work. I haven't been there in a while myself, tho.

Provide the weather cooperates, walk the Scioto Mile and Bicentennial Park, which has one of those fountains you can play in. Plus the Santa Maria replica and Scioto Audubon park. Oh, and you can access it starting at McPherson Commons, which happen to be adjacent to a certain hockey arena (where that arch is across the street).

Might the Cavaliers end up in Columbus? C-Bus is far trendier than Cleveland (which is why I like living in C-Town, by the way, but it's still getting too trendy up here) and would likely have an easier time attracting players looking at the city far more than the team, as is common in the NBA's free agency.

If LeBron doesn't happen to the Cavs, I think they'd have been here by now.

Now, not so much. Gilbert has a lot of money tied up in Cleveland sports. Doubt he'd abandon the market (and if he does, it'll be to Seattle)
