Question now becomes when Monahan comes back do we put him with Johnson. If Chinakhov was healthy we could actually have another legitimate threat as a 2nd scoring line
Might still be a bit early for this. But this would certainly be a good problem to have. Monahan as an experienced guy can probably keep his level better, so if Fantilli is playing well on the first line, I'd keep him there when Monahan comes.

My eye test still makes me think Monahan > Fantilli for the first line, but I think it would be important for Fantilli to get some continued success, so I'd make that tradeoff and try Monahan on the second unless Fantilli's play (/scoring) drops off.

I agree but is Voronkov-Monahan-Marchenko better than potentially creating a more well rounded top 6? Today already is a good reminder of how Sillinger can drag down an offensive line. Maybe someday if this team ever gets healthy we could have
Voronkov-Fantilli-Marchenko
Chinakhov-Monahan-Johnson
Jenner/Sillinger-Danforth
ZAR-Kuraly-Olivier

Marchenko is a legit superstar. I don’t know how he did it, but his vision, which was already good, this year has been absolutely incredible. He controls the play every time he’s on the ice.

He has taken his puck battle winning % through the roof, he's so good at winning back pucks. An absolute demon to play against 5v5.

A few games ago, before Fantilli’s scoring streak started, I noticed he needed around a point per game over 12 games to match his scoring pace of last year.

Well, he’s halfway thru those 12 games and he’s getting close to that so far. lol

I had the same thought. With Monahan the top line was on fire but the wingers seem to be playing well with Fantilli who doesn’t seem to mesh with KJ. Monahan, KJ and Chinakov could be an interesting line.

Re sign JVR movement. I'll take the lead on it I want him to play here until he fully is done in the league.

You sometimes forget how big Parayko is but seeing him holding Voronkov there is a good reminder . Suter still being a little bitch and trying to give a shot on the way by

LDBB might be one of those guys whose style just… fits the NHL. He was a good juniors player obviously, but I thought we’d be lucky if he ended up as more than a 40 point player if he even made an impact in the NHL at all. But now watching him, I think his ceiling could be closer to a 60-70 point player if he keeps up this development pace.

He just seems to get it. Where to be on the ice, what plays to make, how to use his body, etc.
