He didn’t steal the game. AND IT WAS 1 f***ING GAME!! His job is to STOP PUCKS. You guys make it seem like he’s doing something special, when he’s simply passable as a starting goalie.
Even if I played into this, regardless of how the shots were, having 40+ saves in an NHL game is an exceptional performance.

If Korpisalo was in net and he did that, it would have been the shining example of why we should have kept him.

He was bad in the third, and calling it out is fair game. But when you’re nowhere to be found after last game in which he stole the game, it kinda goes on deaf ears for me.
Weird he was nowhere to be found ? Just don’t get it , running to a message board to shit post a player , all in the ilk of look how smart I am .. we get it , and have for a while ..

Yeah, all the props in the world for gutting it out, but he shouldn't have come back in that game.
He was definitely slow getting back on the 2 on 0 breakaway that Elvis bailed them out on. He stil played over 27 minutes tonight which is the complete lack of trust in the 3rd D pair. 3 defenders played 26+ and the 4th spot was just a rotation between the other 3.

The team was just tired because of the short bench.

  • The Werenski - Seversky pair had "their day".
  • The Voronkov - Monahan - Marchenko line started where they left off. Dima played very well.
  • I'll see more when I watch the whole game during the holidays (12/25-12/26). :xtree: 🧁

Why can only some players get shit on constantly!?! I can be told I’m wrong, but, I can’t defend myself and say I’m right!?! People literally name drop me when Elvis simply does his job.

I’ve posted THE SAME EXACT SHIT ABOUT ELVIS FOR YEARS. Shutout games, or 5+ goals against games.

The problem is the toilet seaters around here. Regarding Elvis and everything else. The apparent highs and lows are ridiculous.

Even if I played into this, regardless of how the shots were, having 40+ saves in an NHL game is an exceptional performance.

Not all shots and saves are the same. A 20 save game can be more impressive than a 40 save game.

Why are you talking about Korpisalo? So you can discipline me for responding about him and claim I’m trolling the thread!?!

For what?

This shit is nonsense. He’s been just as good as any other defenseman the last few games.
You're not watching.

He was an absolute clown show tonight.

He is so bad in the defensive zone, jts truly astonishing. I thought he was going to single handedly lose this game in regulation for us.

This team felt different during the first 10 games or so. Recently it feels like the “same old Jackets.”

As soon as Christiansen scored I knew we would give up the lead and if it got to OT, we’d lose. Oh well. On to the next.

Thoughts on this one watching it live:

The team played a very solid game for 40 minutes. Very solid defensive game and then it mostly went to crap.

Pyythia and Malatesta were noticeable, they deserve more ice time than ZAR who inexplicably decided to deke with an open net.

Fantilli was out there running people all night, playing him with ZAR and JVR is killing his potential to produce. They are really too slow to keep up with him. Desperately need Jenner or Chinakhov back to give him some help.

Sillinger looked very good tonight, he actually had some nice dekes and good plays. That whole line played very well and it balances nicely. KJ is probably a bit wasted playing with those two though.

Overall I thought the offense was pretty solid. Nothing amazing but it was tight checking and a closed game until that 3rd period.

Which brings me to the defensive display. JJ isn't an NHL defenseman, he's a skating liability. Christiansen needs to play more minutes, he deserves it especially when you look at our other options. Werenski had a "bad" night but I honestly don't fault him when you look at who he was paired with. Provorov was fine, not great, not bad.

Which brings me to the last defenseman, Severson is going to be absolute widely accepted albatross contract in less than 2 years. I think most people are in denial about this and that's fine, I don't really care but the guy cannot play defense. It's interesting because he has great offensive instincts but in the defensive zone he's like a deer in headlights. Time after time he makes soft play after soft play. There's no grit to anything he does, zero conviction. He's a walking turnover who can't cover. Now that's not entirely his fault, he shouldn't be playing anywhere near 28 mins a night but Waddell is going to have to figure what to do long term with him. Not sure there are many options but if this team expects to be a Cup contender one day, he's not going to be a part of that solution.

Good to get anything out of a trip to Philly. I swear I go to these games every year and they get blown out each time so it's nice to see a close game. Marchenko is the real deal and I'll keep screaming from every place I can. Same things goes for KJ even though he absolutely f***ed up that coverage on the GWG.

Lines and goalies to be posted later.

Today is my birthday (30 years old. Wtf) so hoping for a full Ohio sweep of wins today.
Ah, birthday buddy. Got my girlfriend to watch it which was my present. CBJ seem to do poorly in all these Johnny honors games so that’s not exactly endearing. Every time CBJ improve in one area another’s falls off with our OT now sucking. Team is like a whack-a-mole game

the more post game interviews of Olivier’s I watch, the more I truly believe he will be an NHL coach someday.

I missed the game so I just looked at the goals.

Lots of goals against.

On the first one Tippett stormed by Monahan and Werenski. On the second there was a high tip and Werenski guessed the other way, turning away from the rebound. On the third, the forwards didn't pick up the third man, leaving the defenders defending three. On the fourth, the Flyers happened to get a perfect tip-in on a 6v5, no way to defend everyone there. And on the fifth, Sillinger was napping for a second to give up the 2v1. He was in fine position and then just fell asleep.

- Really rough night for the Werenski-Severson pairing with the number of goals against. But on those goals at least, I did not spot an issue with Severson, he was on his guy. After a little more looking into it, it appears things fell apart defensively after Werenski came back and wasn't moving very well.

- The Sillinger in 3v3 experiment is off to a rough start. He was on the ice for all three OT goals against in this latest set of three OT losses. The two last week and then tonight. I saw the complaints after the first two games about Sillinger in OT but I couldn't tell if he did anything wrong from the goal replays. This time it's in the goal replay, he f***ed up.

- I love Ronny's little pass to Marchy in front for the goal. I can't believe he's the guy who keeps shocking me with his passing. Sign him fast please.
