The Columbus Blue Jackets were eliminated from playoff contention on the last day of the season when the Detroit Red Wings picked up their 24th victory to bring its point total to 56. Despite coming up a point short from its first trip to the playoffs, the new look Blue Jackets exceeded expectations after adding depth forwards Brandon Dubinsky and Artem Anisimov from New York. A mid-season trade brought Marian Gaborik over from the Rangers and the star winger finished with 27 points after posting 19 with New York.

A typical HF look at our team ... generally off the mark. I posted my "mock" on the Draft thread a few minutes ago, and feel like it has a better feel.

Also in the article it references Jenner as a 1st round pick.

If you want fans to discuss and comment at least get the basics right. This looks thrown together quickly and Balt researched too.

Generally disappointing.

If however wrote this article considers himself a knowledgeable fan of the NHL, he should feel very bad right now.

HF, please get someone else to write the CBJ articles.

turrible, just turrible.

Madaisky saw time in the NHL last season? News to me.

Also, who the **** is Seth Ambroz - he's our Nash replacement?

We're still calling JAM a prospect at this point?

Awful.

Would be cool having an actual Jacket fan write our material, it's too much to put on one person to write articles from each and everyone of the leagues 30 teams, this forum is big enough to have each board have their own Journalist writing articles from knowledge they have researching their own favorite teams. Hopefully this idea actually comes to fruition

According to the HF page, they aren't looking for anyone to cover the Jackets right now. Which means, whoever is doing it, they are happy doing it and HF is pleased with the work. Apparently there isn't much proofreading? :dunno:

He was Springfield's leading scorer (67 pts in 74 games) and he's still only 21. A bit early to write him off, I think.

I keep reminding myself of this. He looked bad here, but you can't judge him by his limited exposure here. Calvert took a while to adjust as well.

My favorite quote:

" Columbus’ leading scorer was Vinny Prospal with 30 points, while Mark Letestu led the team with 13 goalies"

We don't need Bob anymore

Letestu lead the team with 13 goalies? Awesome.

I am used to these being of being average quality, but this one is just poor. Looked like a hurried article to meet a dead line. Does anyone at HF review these before they are published? At least for spelling a grammar if not accuracy?

As far as DJA comments, JAM is still a prospect and most of us know who Seth Amborz is. To remove JAM from the prospect list because you don't like him isn't going to happen. I am not really sure where the writer was going to Ambroz.

The organizational weaknesses was odd.

Ambroz was a scorer in Juniors (USJHL), didn't see him at all last season but it sounds like he is being used in a different role at the U of Minnesota. I still think he was a great snag in the 5th round.

he has serious skating problems...he just stands in front of the net and waits for teammates to shoot at him...
