He's the right-handed version of Brady Skjei to me. If the Blues trade him that franchise deserves to go bankrupt.

You know, I don't care that his stats aren't good this year. When defensemen play on bad teams, their metrics take a major hit, and St. Louis has been bad an awful lot this year. I'd be interested for sure, as an Oilers fan. We would need to make the salary cap work and both teams are basically capped out, so it would need to be dollar in for dollar out, which makes it trickier, and it basically means we would need to include Tyson Barrie, so if he's not of interest to the Blues I don't know how to do this. I'm including Evan Bouchard as the big value piece, my fellow Oiler fans may hate me for it, but

To Edmonton
Colton Parayko (6.5M AAV)
We would need to include a 1M player here for St. Louis' cap hit, but I'm not sure which one is the one Blues fans would part with who would fit our needs. Got a cheap rw who can kill penalties? Ha ha.

To St. Louis
Tyson Barrie (4.5M AAV)
Jesse Pulujarvi (3M AAV)
1st round pick
Prospect not named Broberg, Holloway or Bourgault

In other threads, I dropped JP and had Bourgault as the prospect going back.

Parayko for Barrie, 2023 1st and Bourgault.

I think JP would need to be in for salary, although the Oilers recent slew of injuries might have given them the cap space to make it work out. Honestly, I wish we could find a way to do it without Barrie involved too but the salary situation makes that impossible. He's too important to the PP and Bouchard isn't making the step forward on the PP that he needs to. Adding Parayko without taking away significantly from the rest of the d-core is what we really need. I'd include Barrie of course, we're better by adding Parayko.

Nurse - Parayko
Broberg - Ceci
Kulak - Bouchard

The only major question mark there is still Broberg. If he can't put it together next to Ceci, that 2LD hole is still a major issue.

I still have shiny new toy syndrome with Bourgault. Even if we have to trade him, I don't really want to, ha ha ha.

Salary wise, should be good for a while salary wise until Kane is ready to come back. When it gets closer to his return date, trade one of JP, Yamo or Foegele depending on production and return.

I get the shiny new toy syndrome, but what Holloway proved this year, is that we can't keep waiting for these kids. Bourgault might be great, but he's probably not a full time contributor till 2024. Rather not wait till the last year of Drai's sweet sweet deal for an impact.

I'd probably also go Broberg-Bouchard and Kulak-Ceci in more of a standard shutdown pair. Saw some advanced stats on Twitter from Broberg-Bouchard playing together against the Rangers that looked promising. Will see if I can find it again.

His NTC doesn’t kick in until 2028. I don’t think he will be traded for the record but at this point anyone should be on the table.

Edmonton makes some sense as does a few other teams.

What’s his current value??
Holy Lord!
Who made this boys contract!
Good on the kid for making sure he gets paid though!

if we trade Parayko need guy in return who can grow into top 4 spot. from Oil that means either Broberg or Bouchard. Start with one of them, add a 1st, and then figure out what sort of crap you have to give us to make cap work- barrie, foegele, poolparty, whomever. That is what I'd expect deal needs to look like for Blues. Bourgault is great prospect, but it would be super hard to make deal work for us without the young D.
