Islanders Point Blank: Colors wont change; Third Jersey to be added

Not sure why this is such a surprise to some. Wang and Betteman said as much when they announced the move and Wang has repeated it, in print, at least three times.

Because what is said is not always true and a lot of times around this organization it's usually the worst case scenario.

You did notice that under the bridge it does say inaugural game......right? Not so sure this is the patch.

That's on the shirt in the first picture but if you look at the one's actually hanging up right now in Brooklyn there is no "inaugural game" on the shirt or Jersey in picture 2.

I will agree on the t shirt however the patch on the jersey is def for first game. You can tell because under the bottom of the bridge there is writing unlike on the t shirt on the wall

It'll be a major foul up if they can't come up with a good Brooklyn themed logo/jersey.

I hope it isn't black & white like the Nets, because it's just so boring IMO. But i just feel like any logo that will incorporate the Brooklyn Bridge will be fantastic. I really loved that Bk Bridge logo the NYI made for the cancelled 2012 preseason game vs the Devils.

There's a ton of great designs if you just google Brooklyn Islanders. Honestly eventhough our 3rds are attrocious, I have faith our Brooklyn 3rds will be really nice. again, I really hope it isn't black & white though.

It appears that the patches will look like this logo:

If you take a look at Brian Compton's picture of Isles gear for sale at the arena you can see that it has a patch with that logo on the jersey. Who knows if it will change by 2015 but it looks like that's a good bet.

Not sure if that's even possible. The Dodgers or MLB still own all of their Brooklyn trademarks last I had heard. Anything too close to one of their old jerseys, may cause an issue.

I love the jersey in general, but I'd do away with the orange number on the front and a grey (black n white) version of our logo as the shoulder patch. The random colors there seem odd. Other than that I'd buy one of them in a heart beat.

The "out of place" orange numbers are also an homage to brooklyn dodgers with a twist...their numbers were an "out of place" red...

Valiant effort and appreciate all the thought behind it. Me? I prefer the move something that has minimal crawlback to baseball. Are you honoring Brooklyn? Sure. But you are also honoring a baseball team when you are hockey team that should have it's own identity.

I like it...Its simple and has a classic feel...The only think I could do without is the #in front...

is there anyway you could make the same jersey blue and then the writing and stripes white?

I believe we were planning a game there, but the lockout happened so we didn't obviously. That logo is just being updated (see the patch picture).

Oh I am sorry. Let me try again.....I respect the time and effort you put in to design the jersey, however it has no appeal what so ever and could be classified as a worse design than the thirds of last season. It's nothing more than the Dodgers away grey unins on a hockey jersey. I am sure it took hours to design.But you gave it a good try so here's some warm milk and a cookie. Really?!?!?!?!

We can bash the current thirds and some of the other designs that have been posted here but not this one.........ya...ok.

took my daughter to the coney island aquarium this summer and saw that sign on the way back...That's pretty awesome..

It really is a sad aquarium. Woefully out of date & underfunded. a shame really. going there (and I go once every other summer) is kind of like going back in time. Because the aquarium looks exactly the same as it did 20 years ago when I went on elementary school trips.
