Colorado vs Dallas - who would win a 7 game playoff series?

The thing is that Miro is expected to miss time and I think the Avs big boys doing the heavy lifting will get them through.

Yeah with miro out, its really hard for me to see Dallas taking this. Even WITH miro, I don't think Dallas' D is quite cup caliber.

I think with a healthy Miro Dallas definitely has a SC caliber back end, their problem is that the Avss might just be a bit better team in a 7 game series.

It's definitely good enough to win a cup.

Miro and Harley are elite top pairing D.
Lindell and Bichsel (smaller sample size for Bichsel, but he's been as advertised) are strong top 4 D.
Lybush, Dumba, and Ceci are respectable bottom pair D. More so Lybush and Ceci.

The Colorado Avalanche do not beat the Dallas Stars in the playoffs. It just does not happen.

As deep as Dallas is I don’t see anyone stopping the Av’s in the west this year.

Most likely just a factor of timing of the when the polls were taken.

But if I were to try to justify a possible rationale for the different results, it might be a reflection of the view of the consistency of the two teams. Avalanche might have more of a perception as a team with a higher ceiling, capable of getting very hot for a series, but perhaps also a bit more prone to falter at some stage of the SC playoffs. Versus a view that Dallas may be a more consistently reliable contender more likely to be solid in every series right to the end.
