Well let's break it down..

Landeskog produces similarly to Ryan but is much younger, on a better contract, and is a superior overall player.

Barrie is a young 50 point defenseman that's seeking a payday while Chabot is a prospect albeit a very very very nice prospect.

Yeah, this is bad for the Avs. Ottawa gets better now, while Colorado upgrades a deep defensive prospect pool and gets worse on their weakest position.

I'm in the camp that really wanted to draft Landeskog but I certainly don't regret the Anderson-Elliot swap. If we hadn't made the trade, the goalie carousel in Ottawa would have just kept spinning, as it has since... forever.
