We'll be top 5 next year with BlackwoodNot to be a doomsday prophet, but this feels like a loss that breaks a team for a good while.

Ask LA. You don't. Lucky for them, their core won a few before they found their kryptonite
Players don't just randomly bear hug and drag players to the ice. They're smarter than that (unless your name is Miles Wood).Weird analysis. Pause it at 4 seconds, Drury is full on his left arm full body weight and then Seguin goes down. Its the biggest hold you will see all playoffs, two full arm bear hugs, into full body weight on the other player. I've never seen a more obvious penalty, there is no way it's controversial.

I'm not calling it embellishment. I'm calling it smart on Seguin to realize he boxed Drury out, felt Drury's left arm on his and immediately locked it.
It doesn't help that their skates clipped one anothers causing even more instability.
You get better prepared and understand that you can't let a team stay in a series with all the injuries they had.
Pretty much boils down to giving Dallas the juice by choking game 2 in OT and having the most inept power play in recent memory. If it goes even league average the Avs probably put them away in 5. Ray Bennett eat your heart outIt's the most timely turnaround I've seen. Dallas looked like dead meat going into R1.
Yeah. But, the players were complacent in recognizing that. But, Dallas already had a deep team to begin with anyway.Ya except they know that. It's a professional sports team. Realizing that is the easiest part. They lack the execution.
Rants had massive games in an Avs sweater lol he was our best player for an entire season and scored over 50 goals.Good for Rantanen. Incredibly frustrating that he never managed to do anything even close to the sort in a game 7 in an Avs sweater but hell of a period by him all the same. Really sucks that it took the chance to eliminate the Avs to wake him from a 2 year slumber
He did get complacent here. What might be relevant discussion however, is how much a new coach could have had a positive effect on Rantanen here. Assuming we will get a coaching change here.Rantanen got way too comfortable here playing with Mackinnon. I haven't seen Rants move that way since 2022. We will be talking about Rantanen for years but I just have a sneaking feeling even if we had kept him he wouldn't have been this good.
I'm so damn numb to the Avs failures. Ugh.
Of course he did. Just not in a game 7 which is specifically what I was talking about. Wish we had seen yesterday’s game 7 Rantanen in any of his game 7s here. We’d be at least 1-3 in them and there’s a chance he’s still here if we hadRants had massive games in an Avs sweater lol he was our best player for an entire season and scored over 50 goals.
Does nobody remember this?
And? This core is a bunch of choke artists. There’s zero reason to believe this core can win a cup unless the odds are insanely stacked in their favor. We'll be top 5 next year with Blackwood
He was there by himself for a whole minute.I cannot believe I watched Mikko walk down the slot for free in a game 7 playoff game to score the 1st goal
Watch it again and watch #18 in green. Textbook interference.I cannot believe I watched Mikko walk down the slot for free in a game 7 playoff game to score the 1st goal
After the last three games, this is what I feel as well.He did get complacent here. What might be relevant discussion however, is how much a new coach could have had a positive effect on Rantanen here. Assuming we will get a coaching change here.
I kept on saying in the Rantanen threads that there is very much a possibility that he will rejuvenate his game in Dallas, even if it takes some time to get used to. Sucks that it had to happen already in the playoffs against us.
He did well when the Avalanche had injuries. Just like with the Stars now for sure.Rants had massive games in an Avs sweater lol he was our best player for an entire season and scored over 50 goals.

Easily. Colorado never got that and never would get that.Of course he did. Just not in a game 7 which is specifically what I was talking about. Wish we had seen yesterday’s game 7 Rantanen in any of his game 7s here. We’d be at least 1-3 in them and there’s a chance he’s still here if we had
Always seem to be the team on the receiving end of “X player is the first player to accomplish Y feat in NHL history.” Or, “First rookie player to do <insert accomplishment here> in their professional first game”.Avs are just so damn good at helping other teams set records against them.
