Obviously this is really disappointing, but the avs arnt “trash” these are 2 great teams facing off. One was always gonna go home just sucks it’s another G7 loss.

Needed more from Makar, Drouin, Nelson, Nuke and Necas.
I’m actually pretty bummed about necas because I just feel like he’s always gonna leave me wanting more. He’s supposed to be one of our big dogs and he just wasn’t really there.

Also don’t sign Nelson, he’s not a fit. Can’t play off the cycle and won’t be worth his next contract.

The one positive is landy is back and I’m looking forward to eat him next year.

I’m more annoyed that JB stapled Necas to Mack instead of putting him on the second line. It ultimately proved fatal because JB tried to use him like he’s Rants.

Tell me CMAC and Bednar shouldn’t be canned.

We need home ice in games like this plain and simple. Do whatever they do in the offseason and have a better regular season to finish 1st or at very least 2nd in division. There is a chance we play this Dallas team again in next year playoffs, we need home ice to finally beat them

I don't care anyone says but that sexual assault investigation is affecting him. One of the players that had to testify said it gave him anxeity.
It shouldn't. He did nothing wrong, he had an investigation conducted years ago to have his name cleared.

That shouldn't have been an issue at all.

The issue is that your acting like your opinion isn't a common one on here. We all agree, bro. That stats back up your "opinion". You're acting like you have this crazy, far off take, when it's literally the main talking point here.

And again, "I hate being right" 🙄.

The sky is blue. "Look, the sky is blue! God I hate being right!"
If the sky continues to be blue, then that means the Avs losing in the first two rounds is simply in the foundations of our DNA, even though we have two of the top 5 players in the league.

I still love you, brethren. You're a quality poster even if you hate me.

Everyone realizes that Rants doesn't do this if he's still here, right? We've seen that movie before, and he still loses with us. Dallas still wins.
We could right now be in a situation where we're eliminated, Rantanen walks out in UFA and joins the Stars anyway, and we are left with nothing in hand.

He made his choice when he refused to sign here and chose money over his friends and teammates. There's no doubt he would have made the same choice a few months later too.

We are the Leafs of the west. Been saying it for years and tonight solidifies it. It's mental, it's all f***ing mental and it's just so pathetic. Funny enough, I remember seeing somewhere that the Avs and Leafs are the top two teams in terms of consecutive playoff appearances and there's only one ring to show for it. Lmao!!!!!
Avs stuck with Landeskog thru thick and thin because they felt his leadership would be the incisive ingredient.

Gabe did fine and he's definitely a Masterson trophy type of guy. But it wasn't enough and the roster is screwed over the next few years because of this decision.

Nice guys don't always win. Mean bastards who play to win at all costs win just as much.

Can't believe they couldn't even win on accident.

Well deserved though when you think of it, losing Landeskogs return game they should have forfeited the series

Doesn't help that our division is a f***ing gong show every year. Very disappointing overall. We had the win

Nah man, this is the biggest gut punch ever. I hate being right, I effing hate it for the life of me. Even during our 2022 Cup run, I was quite pessimistic, and the Avs constantly losing in the 2nd round made me this way. I am quite depressed right now at this result. A 2-0 lead and you blow it. I don't mind losing, sports are always on the edge of a feather, but not the way they did. Not the way against a team without their two best players. I just cannot accept any excuses whatsoever for this loss. I have to disregard the second half of your post for the same reason, excuses. No excuses will help me with the way I feel right now. Losing against a team I hate with a coach I cannot stand against players who are wankers.

And you can call me out on my BS at any time. @RoyIsALegend did it earlier this year with the Four Nations and how I originally thought it was a joke. I ate a crow, I don't mind eating crows.

You can blame it on bad luck all you want and you're absolutely entitled to that opinion, but the stats just ain't there to back up that sentiment. Bednar is DeBoer's bitch and has been that way for the last ten years for as much as we hate it because I don't think he's truly that amazing, but lines up against Bednar quite well.

I didn't blame it on bad luck. Obviously luck and bad reffing played a factor with the broken stick, puck off skate, and bad penalty on the GWG. Objectively wrong to not acknowledge that.

I also blamed it on Toews and Coyle playing terrible defense, and Wyatt Johsnton and Mikko Rantaanen being clutch and wanting it more.

None of that had anything to do with Bednar. Even if you want to blame the PK, he didn't tell Coyle and Toews to slowly coast down low instead of having the necessary urgency to block a dangerous cross ice pass on the doorstep. Toews was bad all night.

Avs have somehow went from finding clutch playoff guys to finding all the playoff no shows.

A while ago I remember NY poached someone from our front office and some of the guys more plugged into the team were like, oh this is a big deal. I can't remember who it was - a scout or a stats guy? I wonder if with our success we've bled some important guys in pro scouting or analytics because our moves have become a lot less shrewd after the cup year. Or maybe the field just caught up on analytics.

They would have lost at home. This is a 1 and done team. f*** them.

MacKinnon and Necas were terrible all series together and Bednar never once changed the lines. I can't believe in a 7 games series he didn't think to shuffle the lines once.
MacK leads the NHL in playoff goals right now. This shit has got to stop. He was not the problem. Some of you expect the impossible.

I don’t think they need to go full defensive. I still think this team works if you just surround the top end guys with players that force the other team to work. Get your heavy forecheckers up front and a couple punishers on defense and stop ignoring the middle of the ice. Let the top guys do their thing, but the send out your homicidial maniacs to soften them up in between
Honestly I think we can beat any other team in west other than Dallas. Maybe Vegas would give us trouble too, but I really think this Stars team is our biggest problem in the playoffs. I really believe the difference is home ice. If we had home ice advantage in this game 7, we probably win. We need to have a much better regular season next year

I kinda agree with retooling, but if they’re doing that, need a new coach to implement a new system and everything. I just can’t picture the Avs moving on from Bednar, and turning into a more defensive minded grinding team like Dallas, even if that’s what they should do. With Nate and Cale, this team will always be who they are, skilled offensive minded team.
Was thinking then you post... what coach out there would, could bring in a system that Cale and MacK could be agreeable in?

MacK is so enmeshed in bednar system, getting his way, is he even coachable at this point any more? Cale yes.

I don't think so for MacK. He is so used to "my O-mind" and the "the thought of me being asked to back check??" mind... is MacK even coachable any more?

Who else could MacK work with... tho we know that ain't happenin'...

I suggest that nobody should be out of the woods, but Avs ain't trading Makar, Toews, MacKinnon, Nuke, etc. Easier to replace the coach with different strategies that line up better against DeBoer. This ain't the last time we're going to face Dallas with this goof in charge, we need something to change that doesn't end with the same result because we keep losing to Dallas and/or DeBoer. We simply cannot excuse that.

8 straight playoff appearances but only got past the 2nd round once…f***n pathetic, so many people need to be run out of town
The front office needs to be run out of the state. It's not working. Special teams isn't working. I'm 50/50 on Bednar but maybe it's time to clean house
