Typical Denver win. Rope a Dope you and handle the pressure, but don’t crack. Then rip your heart out on a slight mistake in coverage.

Michigan dominated them most of the game and especially in that 2nd OT, but they weathered the storm. Hicks was great in net.

OT hockey can be cruel, sometimes……
Their history in the NCAA tourney is insane. They still recruit to win championships. Most of the other big programs have transitioned to recruiting likely top draft picks, who stay a year or two at most. That lack of continuity seems to make much weaker/shallower teams for the postseason grind.

Do the bruins have any more roster spots available for undrafted players

The Bruins have a ton of roster spots available to give anyone a 26/27 ELC. They even have the ability to offer someone a 25/26 ELC, but they just have no real ability to actually play anyone in their remaining 3 games

DU has only beaten Wisconsin twice in nine postseason matchups, the last time in 2012 when they were both part of the WCHA. I think they'll win tomorrow, though.
I was expecting Wisconsin to lose to both Michigan St and North Dakota. Was 50/50 on their chances against Dartmouth.

Defensively, they've been stellar this entire tournament. They completely shut down Dartmouth and North Dakota.

I think Denver and Wisconsin play a very similar style. Gonna be a grinding game and come down to mistakes and goaltending. Both teams are currently playing their best hockey of the season, but if I gotta pick a winner I'm going with Denver too.

As a lifelong Badger hockey kid, I'll be rooting hard for my home state. Go Badgers. I've got my old Joe Pavelski Wisconsin sweater out of the closet and will be rocking it on Saturday evening.

Denver has some program and an absolute stud of a coach.

I’m assuming you know the chant when the Badgers get a penalty. My then nine-year-old had no idea what “your mom’s inflatable” meant, and I’m hoping at twelve he still doesn’t!

I know them all.......Used to go to about 10 games a year and always sat behind the visitors bench.

Me and my buddies used to wear Drake Caggiula out when he played at North Dakota.

Used to call him "Caligula" and told him to be "hard on pucks" and that he was "gripping the shaft too tight". We got some of his teammates to smirk about that one....

This is awesome.

His own game schedule conflicts far more than we'd like, but similarly, we try to go to as many UMass games as possible every year. Certainly helps that in Hockey East, they play a lot of games in the eastern part of the state, PC and UNH are also close and Amherst is only an hour and a half. You would've had lots of far longer drives in the old WCHA!

When he was around six, he and I sat behind the visitors' penalty box at a P Bruins game, and he was all over those guys. Totally clean, harmless stuff, but the Springfield guys and the people seated near us were dying at this little kid chirping them about how they had no skill and that's why they were in box, etc.

We got to see the Badgers in the Frozen Faceoff tourney in Milwaukee a few years ago, and were amused to find that the same chants were being used at an Admirals game we also went to. Admirals have it ALL OVER the PBs for fan experience, for that matter. We had an absolute blast. All the NCAA teams and both AHL teams that were in that weekend stayed in our hotel, too. One of the greatest trips I've ever had - just me and the boy.

Wisconsin sports fans are great in general. They're a bunch of drunks, but they're generally friendly drunks and always fun to be around, even if you're from the opposing team. Whether its Brewers, Packers, Admirals, Badgers.....whatever. Its a midwestern thing. Games are a celebration and most people are there for a good time first. It takes a lot to piss them off. We're there to have fun and if we get a win, so much the better.

Back in the day, the old Dane County Coliseum in the 80's still has one of the best atmospheres to watch a college hockey game that I've ever been to. The Kohl Center is nice, but the atmosphere is nowhere near what it was back at the Coliseum. Its a lot like the old Boston Garden vs TD Garden.

Sconnie out shooting Denver 21-5 after 2 periods but only lead 1-0.

Deep down in my heart, I know Denver's gonna tie this up on some greasy assed goal to take it to OT....

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - Ted Donato '91, The Robert D. Ziff Head Coach for Harvard Men's Ice Hockey, has announced his plan to step away from Harvard at the end of the academic year.

"It is with immense gratitude that I have decided to end my tenure at Harvard as head coach of the Men's Hockey program," Donato said. "I am proud and grateful for all the incredible moments, everlasting memories, and relationships from my 27 years connected to the University as a student-athlete, coach, and parent.

"I feel truly blessed to have had the opportunity to work with such talented and driven student-athletes and staff of the highest character. With the ever-changing landscape of college athletics, I believe it is the right time to pass the torch to the next leader of the Harvard Men's Hockey program."

I've been watching Ted since he skated at the old Garden for CM, so a salute to him for a good long, local run on the ice and behind the bench.
