He will be an awesome player. Voted 80-90. I don’t think he will be an 80-90 point player, but he could be.

I see him as a 40 goal 30 assist guy at his peak.

Atkinson at his peak was a 40 goal scorer playing on the Columbus Blue Jackets. Not totally convinced Debrincat has really eclipsed that, would like to see some more consistency from him season to season.

Outside of that season, Atkinson has scored 35 goals once and has four 20+ goals seasons.

Also, just watching them play DeBrincat is much more dangerous. He's only 23 and has a 41 goals season too and 32 goals in 52 games in 2021

50 goals is absolutely possible. Caufield is still very underrated. Great in many areas of the game as well contrary to what some people have said.

I don't see any reason why he can't have the success that DeBrincat is currently having.

I think he will have some big years with 80+ points, and should have a few 40+ goal seasons, but I think a career average should be around 70ish points per season, which is a very good career average.

Between 2016-17 and 2018-19 Atkinson scored 100 goals in 227 games playing for Tortorella in Columbus. That's a 36 goal pace.

In Debrincat's last 3 years, he's potted 91 goals in 204 games, which is also a 36 goal pace, but he's played with Patrick Kane for most of his successful time there.

I don't doubt he can exceed Atkinson's peak, but he hasn't yet.

I have said for a while that Caufield will be a good top-6 forward but there's plenty of guys that'll be good in here, and some very good.

Hughes, Zegras and Seider as elite players. Dach, Cozens, Byram and Boldy are going to be excellent too. Broberg, Kakko and Turcotte should/could be solid pieces too. I'm not a big fan of drafting goalies high but Knight is going to be among the best for a long time. Podkolzin, Soderstrom and York maybe should have been taken later but it's still early so I don't know.

Even after, there's still several players who could be as important or even better... Newhook (steal of the 1st round IMO), Heinola, Tomasino, McMichael, Pinto...

So who are those 8-10 teams that will look silly?

He was always boom/bust...and it sure looks like he will boom. Kid OOZES with offensive talent.

I’d say he’s a safe bet to be a 75 point scorer.

I put 50-60 as I see him as a 30 goal, 30 assist player. Maybe more if Montreal finds some superstars to play him with.
