Cole Caufield GOTY

I have no idea what makes one goal the absolute best, nor do I give a shit. All I know is this goal was amazing.

I did find it funny that in every other thread, Celebrini is acclaimed as a budding superstar and amazing two-way player, but when he gets beat by Caufield he's just a random rookie forward.

I mean….he isn’t a defensemen? lol

Man, tough crowd, well I think it was one of the nicest goals this season.

Maybe because it's an overstatement. Its a nice goal but not even close to GOTY

Beautiful goal, but definitely not GOTY worthy.

Maybe I'm alone, but I give less credit to plays like this in OT or on the PP where there is more space available and the defenders are stretched thin. Throw in that the defender in this case in like a buck eighty high school-aged forward and it's even less impressive.

Still a beautiful move and goal.

Zegras scored 139 of his 170 career points in his first 3 seasons and only 31 in his last two, so yes, he has been fairly bad the past two seasons.

I don't like MTL. But Suzuki and Caufield are a great duo to build around!

And that goal might not quite be "of the year" quality. But it would probably end up on the highlight reel countdown to the actual GOTY. So it's worth seeing/discussing.

The thread title had me thinking I was going to see the GOTY as the OP didn't put candidate or anything just stated that this was the GOTY. It was a very nice goal, but I'd be shocked if it made the top 20 goals for the season.
