Well, I'm a Lincoln Stars (USHL) season ticket holder....so I had the opportunity to watch Colby a LOT this past season. In a private message to a buddy of mine, I posted this about Colby:
"There is NO denying this kid has incredible offensive talent. His shot on the PP is UNREAL. Best I've ever seen. However, he glides out there...doesn't really seem to pump his legs at all. He takes TOO many chances on offense, and often gets caught up ice. We gave up a ton of goals like that, due to having too many offensive defensemen. I hope the coaches at BU can drill some defense into his head. I'd like to see him play the body more. He has above average fighting skills too, which surprised me. Raw talent, but I question his drive sometimes."
He was a kid that a lot of the fans never really warmed up too...because he took too many chances on offense, and never really looked like he "wanted it" out there. I question his work ethic, and again...his drive to succeed. I hope he can prove me wrong...but there's no denying he has fantastic offensive upside.
BTW, I had the opportunity to watch Petrecki quite a bit also...and to say that Cohen will be a better player than Cohen is laughable. Petrecki has a mean streak that I think a lot of teams will really like. A lot of passion...something that Cohen lacks.
